NCAA 12- Anyone struggle passing?

I am really struggling passing the ball this year. It seems like the Zones the defense runs are incredible. Anyone have any advice/plays that work well for them in the clutch?

Yeah, pretty much everyone. There's been much talk on this board about how much the zone has improved and the difficulty passing the ball.
If the zone is killing you, try to run your passing plays with receivers stacked on one side (trips, etc.) Read that side of the field and the key is to make your throw quick. When you see someone open, its too late. You have to see the hole and throw before your receiver gets there.

I'm definitely throwing more interceptions but it's not too bad. I actually like the improved passing defense. I'm not throwing for 800 yards every game now.

A LOT of drop passes to wide open WR. When you need it.

I've also been getting more holding calls than usual.

Motion and hot routes are my best friends

Easy to not Struggle with Alshon and Lattimore
But after Alshon leaves next year in my Dynasty it will be tough

This. Except when JJ throws it 5 yards over the receivers head and into the hands of a trailing defender. Thats why I put Mett in on that formation

It can be tough as hell against good defenses. However one thing I LOVE is that the computer will have busted assignments at times in both zone and man and leave recievers wide open.
I've also noticed that it's important at times to use bullet passes and rainbow throws accordingly.

Its definitely alot harder this year, but I like it. Makes people have to run the ball effectively. A couple of times I have had to put Mett in for JJ cause he is so much more accurate.

Yep, I definitely am. I went from throwing about every time in 11 to running probably 70% of the time on this game. I like that the defense is a lot better, though.

I have definitely thrown a ton more INT's this year and it has been a tough adjustment because I threw all over in NCAA '11.
And for the record, I put Mettenberger in online and he had a guy wide open flying down the middle and missed him completely

One play i do when i need Big yards, I like up Trip Wides to one side and send them all on post routes
I take the inside receiver and hot route him to slant towards the side lines...Normally a quick drop and he has alot of room to run...It works well for me..I havent noticed if it works just on Zone or Man but normally by the time he hits the sidelines he is clear to the endzone if the two WRs can block their men.

I'm doing pretty good passing, are you using the left stick to lead your WR to the open part of the field, away from the defender?

Biggest tip: Forget EVERYTHING you learned from NCAA 11.
Stay in the pocket, make quick reads.
Use more touch on your passes, not just all bullet passes like last year.
Things that worked last year don't always work automatically this year.
There are holes to be found against zone, they're just in diffeent spots every play, unlike the same holes on the same plays last year.

Definitely a lot of misses to open recievers where they just run right by it. Another thing is that it seems that they drop the ball every time they get hit... Seems like little fixes need to be made but over all loving the game

Yea, that may be a tad overdone.

This I LOVE actually. I've been screaming for this for a long time lol. Almost every pass QBs threw in the past were right on target, no matter how far downfield.
This year, it seems that power/accuracy actually have real meaning. It's pretty sweet.
