I love this year's game, mostly due to the Legends. The first thing I did was unlock all of the Legend teams.
Then I started an Association using most of those teams. I replaced any current team with one of their Legends teams. For teams like Jordan's Bulls, I picked my favorite team.
For teams like the Lakers or Celtics with 80s teams and much older teams, I put the more current in for their city. Then I put the other in another city without a Legends team. So the Lakers were replaced by a Magic Johnson team and the Clippers by a Jerry West team. I just made sure that there weren't multiple versions of any stars/starters, although I missed some minor players.
Right now I'm playing through an association with Penny and Shaq's Magic team. Shaq's unstoppable, Penny is awesome and Dennis Scott rains 3s.

So some impressions on the game so far and these are from my-player mode.
The game is absolutely beautiful and the movement is fluid. It took me a while to adjust to the complexity of the new animations but I know how to play to the strengths of a jump-shooter or a slasher now. Presentation and stat overlay add so much to the game and the commentary is on-point. It is a bit repetitive over the course of a season but that is to be expected.
The Franchise AI in my-player mode is totally retarded. I got drafted by the Suns and during the pre-draft interview they brought the angle that I could learn from Steve Nash and then eventually take over. Little did I know that the GM would trade almost everyone on the roster a week into the season. The Suns line-up right now is Aaron Brooks, Devin Harris, Brooke Lopez, Mehmet Okur, Spencer Hawes and me coming off the bench. Needless to say we went 30-52 in the first season, it was a total disaster. I won the ROTY due to there only being 2 rookies because of the lockout.

Yeah, I've heard the trading in My Player is insane but that still wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.
I'm still waiting for someone to do an all-time legends roster to do a fantasy draft with that.

In My Player or just in general? I have Wall and Tyreke Evans on my franchise team and don't have much trouble getting to the lane with them
