Some of the mountain ones y'all post look awesome but let my forwarn you now.....
- its a bitch to get up and down to explore or gather supplies.
- if you don't make a bed immediately and you die, you spawn on a frickin mountain a mile away.
- if you go exploring for different supplies and cross several mountains, it's sux to try to get back in the dark.
- when building in StoutTopia v2, I fell into the lake below several times and it's a pain to go pick your shite up then climb back to your project area

Just tried the demo.
100% pass for me. I don't understand the hype. I only played for 10 minutes so maybe I'll try again later. Seems like you just walk around digging shite up and hoping something doesn't kill you.

Maybe whoever posted those pics on that site copied the wrong one.

I've experienced this and I agree

Umm did you try building anything?

It's like any other game. It's a lot better to play with other people.

Sort of but you are mining for resources to build and craft and make your home or whatever you want to build that much better. Also better resources for better weapons and armor

No. I couldn't play it long enough. Just seems that just about anything else I could've been doing for those 10 minutes would have been a better use of my time.

When you first start off, it's overwhelming. You have no tools and you just don't know where to start. Best thing I can tell you is to explore, gather supplies along the way, and find a nice area to build some type of shelter. There is a wiki link I posted earlier with recipes for crafting items.
I got hooked right away, but I was also playing with a friend. But to each his own.

Describes ANY video game, IMO.

Its more fun with your homies. Real talk

I agree with that. I sure as hell could be doing something better with my time, but frick it, I like minecraft.

So I walk around digging and building stuff to find supplies to make what I've already built better?
I can just go to Home Depot and build an actual shed in the back yard
This one just isn't for me. Certainly not for $20. I felt robbed wasting time downloading and playing the demo. I might give it a solid 20 before final judgement though. Maybe I'll play long enough to build something, if the demo allows it. But based on the demo, no thanks.
The only thing is I didn't care too much for BF3 demo and the game is light years better than the demo/beta was so maybe this is the same thing?

Not sure. I think a couple people on here actually bought the game because of the demo. It might just not be your thing. Not a problem.
eta: Also I do and I'm sure others do it as well. If you are new coming into my world, by all means, take a few things from the chests to get going to bypass some of the tedious stuff up front.

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm thinking. I like SimCity back in the day and thought this would similar. Maybe it is if I play it long enough.
I kept getting attacked by some damn spiders. There were alread some houses built and a railroad with a cart. I was thinking when you start there's basically nothing there and you had to basically create your own world.

Nah. I'd take advantage of your generosity and burn down your house or something

In the demo I think there are premade villages. Just get inside of a house until daylight and then venture out. It's best to be inside at night
