That's a really good point.
I've never actually played Minecraft, is there a semblance of a story or is it all sandbox, fortress building shenanigans?
If there is no story or ultimate goal, then I can't talk myself into thinking I'm not wasting my time.

Diamonds are only on the bottom 15 layers of the map

That and the goal is to survive. They did add an ender dragon character on the latest PC version to sort of give it an ending.

Basically they are trying to survive and show off to each other who can build the coolest shite. Sounds fun.

Why dont you just try it before you knock it and say its boring. I thought that about many games that I ended up enjoying a lot and Minecraft happens to be one of my favorite games. Shows a lot if it broke the record for fastest selling arcade game.
