No, it's amazing.

I'm not convinced of this rumor at all. Would be an incredibly stupid move by Microsoft. I guess we'll see.

I really like you as a poster generally across all TD but you have a massive blindspot regarding Xbox for some reason. No, Starfield was not “amazing.” Just as I said it wouldn’t be and it ended up being exactly what I said it would be on this board 8-12 months from launch. A 5-6 our of 10 game. You’re more than welcome to live in your sunk cost fallacy and try to convince people it’s the best game ever but you’re going to be like the guy pushing a boulder up a hill except it’s a solid stone cube this time so it can’t even get traction. I don’t understand this need to defend absolutely mediocre to the very DNA of that words definition games as “amazing” just because ir was literally the last best long shot hope for Xbox. It’s recent steam reviews got to mostly negative within 3 months. Bethesdas in house agenda belongs in 2014 and they haven’t updated their game design since Skyrim.

They’re probably being forced to multi platform it by Disney

The volume of rumors lessens their legitimacy.
Multiple XBox exclusives have been rumored to be coming to PlayStation over the past few days. First it was Hi-Fi Rush, then Sea of Thieves (which honestly makes the most sense since it's an MMO), then Indiana Jones, then Starfield. It's like a rolling target.
Aside from that, such an announcement would take all the wind from XBox's sails from having the biggest game in 2024 so far as an XBox console exclusive (Palworld).
Maybe the rumors are true, but it's hard to see how anyone could view that as a good business decision.
Could also be these rumors were leaked to gauge the reaction, which has been overwhelmingly negative, but I'm leaning toward these simply being fake because there's no way they're removing exclusivity from every one of the games that have been rumored over the past few days.

My god man you need to check in to whatever the AA version for Xbox copers is. You don’t need to twist yourself into pretzels or try to pour over and interpret corporate strategy to see they are very likely pivoting this direction. No one buys fricking Xboxes. Even in USA their biggest markets BY FAR Sony eats their lunch on the console front with ease. When you move into places like Europe and Japan etc it’s so embarrassing for Microsoft idk why you keep defending it instead of recognizing it as a very smart move and that they clearly have people reading the tea leaves attentively.

Starfield is amazing. Game isn't mediocre at all.

Only thing I'm seeing is rumors from people who don't know anything. Maybe they will be going in this direction, but I've seen rumors like this turn out to be false a great many times in the past year or two.

None of this is relevant. XBox has higher profit margins than PlayStation. If they're reading the "tea leaves," they aren't making this move.

Again, you’re perfectly in your right to hold that opinion and think it’s literally the second coming of Jesus. And If you truly think that I mean this in all honesty I couldn’t be happier for you. But, you can’t pass that off as fact like it’s accepted by the masses as such because it’s very flatly not true. It’s been thoroughly rejected as a Bethesda game as pretty much memed to death as the meaning of a mid AAA game. You can love it. Im truly not being sarcastic when I say I’m happy you do. But you must understand it’s seen by the gaming audience at large as a repudiation on Bethesda for their engine, static game design for like 20 years, laziness, terrible writing; and more.

None of this is accurate. Game still had 50k concurrent users on Steam two months after release and was one of the most-played single player games on Steam in 2023. Mediocre games don't put up those sort of numbers, especially when they release on Game Pass at launch. People paid to buy this game on Steam and then made it one of the most successful Steam games of the year.

Yes it is rofl. Because even if I take that statement as fact about profit margin which I absolutely do not because I have no idea what variables you’re controlling for, assuming it is true, dropping console production and the insanely huge loss in income it brings because they can’t move them and pivoting themselves to something akin to a hybrid publisher but with a pinch of Netflix thrown in would only serve to increase those margins no?

That was revealed in the MS/ABK court proceedings with the FTC. Was entered into evidence by the FTC and discussed during the trial. They were trying to make the argument that XBox didn't need the ABK purchase to compete. I didn't research the numbers at all because I have to assume something entered into evidence by the government is accurate.

Rofl mediocre games put up those numbers ALL THE TIME. And this is a game made by Bethesda a company with massive brand recognition. I’m done going back and forth with you simply coping. I don’t mean to be rude but that’s what it is nothing else can describe it. Imcadtially happy you got a game you loved: again I enjoy you as a poster, but you’re just completely incapable of seeing Xbox for what it is currently and the absolute dog shite brand that it is which at this point they’ve likely decided can’t be saved and are pivoting. I know you won’t accept this and that’s fine but man your cope and defense of starfield is memeable

Mediocre games don't become top 5 played games during the year. People weren't continuing to play it because it sucked.

You're right about this. I'm definitely not seeing that at all.

Microsoft rumored to release Starfield on PS5

Xbox exclusive: comes to ps5 in like 7 months
Ps4 exclusive ff7 remake; coming “sometime this year” to Xbox over 4 years after it came out when all of us will have already destroyed the extremely impressive looking sequel. Editors note: Sony only had a 1 year exclusive on remake
Yup Xbox is a thriving brand. Starfield was billed as like the Jesus come home to deliver Xbox back to prominence. Imagine Sony announcing Ghost of Tsushima 2 will come out on ps5 for 6 months before they shrug and just send it duel platform

Holy shite they can keep that trash if true.
I’d welcome Sea of Thieves just for the co-op experience with the wife but starfield is useless on PS5 unless there’s mod support.

Flight Simulator being mentioned makes that look even less legitimate.
