Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

I cant believe this day and age there'd be 2 Flight Simulators released within 4 years of each other.

I didnt even get a chance to buy 2020 yet. One day when the wife and kids are gone for the weekend I'll be able to take a nice long weekend flight without passenger complaints.

I haven't played Flight Simluator in at least a decade. Where do you find the appeal is? I like peaceful mindless games at times. Is there progression? Do you have access to everything right away? Is it just beautiful and fun to fly cool planes around?
I had a friend who was obsessed and made his closet into a cockpit and worked for a virtual airline. I don't think I'd go that far but I might make the jump.

It’s got missions but the appeal to me is flying around where I grew up and also landing on the top of the pyramids of Giza

this one is essentially the add on that gives us more to do in game..Series X opened the door for a lot of PC games to come across

It is kinda peaceful and mindless. I like the details of flying (the startup, learning the plane's systems, etc.). Plus you can get plugged into some mods like vatsim, which give you live ATC staffed by a volunteer community.
