Yeah I can’t see CoD or warzone being xbox/PC exclusive. To much money to be made with season passes, micro trans, etc. I really only see a play it first type thing. Which is fine whatever.
Would be interesting to see if they can actually make the franchise better. Which would be nice.

I would put my money on them taking a half step back from those two: offered on Gamepass on release day.
That way, they have more of a defense against antitrust claims while still having the advantage. I don't think this is a play for this generation; I think it's a play to cripple Sony next generation. So I think they would rather sheer the sheep than skin it, at least for the time being.

I mean we can talk about things that were happening 15-20 years ago, and a decade before Phil Spencer was running XBox, if you want, but that would be ridiculous. The reality is that Microsoft had been playing nice for quite some time, and their hand was forced. They could have been making major purchases like these at any point since the 360 era if they wanted to. It's not like Microsoft suddenly fell into a multi-trillion dollar market cap.
ETA: Sony chose to antagonize what they should have known was a much larger and much more capable corporation. No one made them do that. Nothing that happened during the 360 era made them do that. Sony did that.

Don't they already have an Ultimate game pass? They'll just make a super duper game pass for people who want to play Day 1 buggy releases.

Day 1 releases are already a part of Game Pass. Any game by any company owned by Microsoft hits Game Pass on day one.

Glad I got my Xbox coming in tomorrow. I love my PS5, but all my friends went Xbox and I have been dying to give game pass a whirl.

If possible, load up on xbox live gold subscriptions (up to 36 months) then sign up for 1 month of game pass ultimate (14.99) and it will convert your existing gold membership to gamepass for even better value.

yes, you can convert up to 3 years of gold to game pass this way. Might as well go ahead and purchase two more years of gold, and then convert.

This was the same argument about Starfield going exclusive and well we know how that turned out.. Now that isnt a established blockbuster IP like CoD but it would not surprise me at all if it too became a XBOX/PC exclusive (except Warzone).
