So gems are pretty new to me, I haven't been paying attention to them much. Once you hit 802 tho, go watch a tutorial on how to fuse and/or facet (not the purple stones, but the tiny blue ones, will say lvl 1 on them when you first get them).

Hit 1040 ilvl this morning. The underwater abyss raids are a BLAST. You have to have all 8 people know what they're doing but man it's fun.

Got my 2nd character to 802, and starting Yorn on my 3rd.
Have something to do this evening, so may have to get the 3rd to 802 tomorrow.

Ended up at 1060 after the weekend. The mats and honing rates at the end of T2 can suck my wang

I'm guessing the good exp comes from raids or something?
I managed 2-3 whole levels over the weekend while playing 3-4 hours per night (just hit 50 and -holy shite!- is the exp going slow now).
Also, I seem to have hit a wall on my home. I don't have any quests for upgrading my island beyond unlocking the farm island (which I can't figure out how to get to), so all I am doing is sailing missions (and even though I have three boats I can only do one at a time).

You pretty much stop paying attention to character level when you hit 50. It's all based on item level (ilvl) from here on out.

50 is the soft cap for end game. combat xp massively slows down. you wont hit 51 any time soon, not a big deal though.
once you do your first set of chaos dungeons, you'll then be ilvl 302 . start honing each piece of gear with mats (harmony shards, harmony leapstones, destruction stone fragments, guardian stone fragments) to eventually get to 460 to unlock Rohendel and 600 ilvl to unlock Yorn. Try your luck with Guardian Raids for some multiplayer activity. The first 3 guardians are pretty easy.
then after yorn, you run chaos dungeons to get 802 ilvl gear that you hone up to 1100.
regarding stronghold, you get a lot of XP for researching, are you researching new things at all times? i think once you hit 302 ilvl, you will unlock more stuff to research.

start visiting some islands that are listed under the "welcome! challenge " Collectible tabs. good rewards. the 250 ones like shadow isle, panda isle, seagull isle, peyto etc

I just realized, there are a couple of things in my list but I need more pirate coins to do it (had no idea what those were for so I bought only a few from a merchant ship).

for cross server stuff, you have to pretty much use Discord to coordinate creating a party and joining it.
friends list isnt cross server. a lame oversight.

those pirate coins are important. get them from islands.
start doing dispatch missions to get more of them.
the first ship you get, the Estoque, is actually great when upgraded and has the right crew in it. You can use coins to upgrade it. 2nd best ship in the game when considering speed and resistances, behind the Astray which is an absurd grind.
you can also use coins to buy honing materials from traveling merchants docked in major city ports
hold on to your "high seas" chests that have options for Gienrahs coins, sun coins, etc. those are important too but you have to know what to use them on. For instance, you can get masterpeices and Giants Hearts from vendors on islands for ~3300 Gienrah coins. pretty worth.

Julissabiscuits - Gunslinger (I LEVEL 933.33)

Those are my 3 characters that I am actually using if anyone wants to add on their friends list.
On my higher level characters, I can run my dungeons and shite for my tier 2 mats, and just roll for fun/practice on the lower chaos dungeons to help others if yall are down.
