Looking for good multiplayer for XBOX one

So im getting some free time coming up and havnt bought a new game in a long time.
Im looking for something to play with people and basically just blow off steam.
I got BF1 awhile back but got bored quickly since theres no real progression system.
I heard Destiny 2 really is another POS and of course Battlefronts a no go out of principle
Hows COD:WWII? Any other good suggestions along those lines?

I don't know about the campaign but strictly MP I've been playing COD: WW2 and I'll admit I'm having a lot of fun. Main complaint is map size and rotation. Still quick scoping and the normal COD nonsense but most people know the pros and cons of COD before starting to play.
Maybe it's just me or maybe I'm trying to force a comparison but it feels like a smoother BLOPS with small maps to me. A few different systems in game that they basically ripped off from BF and Destiny but I don't think that's a bad thing really. War mode is fun

Don't go into WW2 thinking it's back to its roots. That's what I did and it completely ruined the game for me

Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands. R6 has been out for two years but Ubisoft is doing a great job of continuing to support it with new maps and team members.Its only multiplayer. There is no single player campaign besides the tutorial missions. GR Wildlands has a huge single player/multiplayer coop campaign but the missions get repetitive after a while. Still its fun to play with other people. The recently released Ghost War is really good. It 4v4 on large maps and like R6 Siege its pretty intense.
CoD is fun too but its what you would expect. War mode is the only new mode but I like that its objective based.

R6 is the best competitive shooter out right now. However it will be a steep learning curve for you. Kills are really rewarding though. It might take forty hours of just running through maps before you can even try to make an impact. I have only seen one person who doesn't play it a lot constantly succeed and he is just crazy good at using a controller. He doesn't know maps, just runs and guns which is a no no on that game for 99 percent of people.

How do you mean? If you mean like everyone having crazy weapons and sprinting across the map with robo legs than thats fine with me.

Halo 5 is great multiplayer if you haven't already tried it. Campaign, not so much.
