Is the higher memory worth it?
Any other recommendations for the system or accessories?
Game suggestions for a 12 year old who loved breath of the wild, Mario odyssey, etc?

Got one for the wife for Christmas (256gig version). I like it a lot better than my Rift S in most cases.
The only real problem I've run into (thus far) with games is that if you mod Beat Saber (which is mainly to download custom songs, especially those not available through their store), you can't join a server to compete against friends (at least with the current build). So as far as that game goes you either have to play it without mods or play solo.

Get a good comfortable strap.
If you have a capable PC, I would get a fiber optic link cable to broaden your options. You don't need the cable per se but over the air is hit or miss for most people/connections.
You also need a good strap.
For Quest 2 games, Resident Evil 4 is hard to beat. Beat Saber is an obvious choice but Pistol Whip is a good alternative. I don't have much experience with other games other than I Expect You to Die, which is good but not my thing.
I haven't played Half Life Alyx yet through SteamLink but I hear that's the definitive experience to date. Subnautica VR will blow your mind.
