Dorothy?

I just started yesterday and played about two hours. I feel like I am going to enjoy this game a ton.

Any tips? Should I build my character like I do in games similar to this (health and stamina)?

Yes, and don’t neglect capacity like I did early on.

These games aren't even that hard, they just take slightly more focus than a game like Zelda or Red Dead. If you just approach them knowing that death is around every corner, then you'll have a much smoother playthrough.

Idk i picked up Bloodborne again not long ago and died early on and just said, nope, not doing this shite.

I genuinely think these games suck arse. Just not fun.

I prefer a ghost of Tsushima type game.

You got that with Elden Ring. That will probably be as easy as they ever go.

Haven't played it because was told it was a souls game.

I played Ghost of Tsushima before I played Elden Ring, which got me into these games. If you can beat Ghost, you will be fine. They’re definitely not for everyone, but after ER, I played all of the Dark Souls games too. They’re fricking amazing.

It is, but it’s open world so you can roam around and stick with the easy shite until you become over leveled if you need the help. It’s basically the genre’s version of easy mode. It doesn’t force you into hard boss fights if you don’t want it and you aren’t stuck until you can clear stuff.

I got stalled on Corrupted Parade Master, but finally got him down. Now it’s the Black Rabbit Brotherhood Pt. 2. Damn near had them my first try, but Eldest kicked my arse when I had only him left, and got him down to half health.

Man, frick Mad Clown Puppet and King of Puppets. Holy shite.

Finally started playing during Thanksgiving week and this is where I’m at lol. I sprinted by the clown to get to the stargazer between him and the King and I’ve basically been trying different strategies on each to no avail. Haven’t utilized throwables much so far in this game but I guess it’s time to give it a shot

I’m on Champion Victor and he is a dick. I have no shame in admitting I use throwables in boss fights, sometimes many of them

Throwables are OP in this game. I have no shame for the amount of time I spent farming them and ergo for them

Second half of the game I would use every single throwable I could to burn at one health bar and then fight the other normally.

frick all them health bars. LoL

to this point I either haven't needed them or simply forget they are there, but I'll have no issue using them moving forward.

Last night I fired up the game after a few days of not playing and managed to beat the clown and the king pretty quickly. I'm a motivity build so I swapped over to the huge wrench and have it leveled up to +5 or 6 now. While incredibly slow and hard to charge up the big attack, it did crazy damage on both.

I still don't use my dude's arm abilities at all lol. Haven't quite figured out the best way to utilize it.

here's a hint, max out puppet string and then just spam the hold L2 attack. So OP

What is the box suit case symbol thing in the stargazer, next to hotel Krat? I’ve talked to every NPC at Krat but can not find this side quest.

Oh and Champion Victor is still a huge a-hole. I could have leveled up numerous times for the amount I spent in consumables in order to finally beat his arse

So for anyone who doesn’t know, they released a very substantial update at the beginning of December I think around the 7th. First big thing is something you used to need to unlock via p organs, dodge rolling off the ground when hit, is now standard movement which is awesome . They have even more generously increased the parry window, nerfed boss health, and for some massively increased stagger windows (the length the bar flows white for) to the point it almost cannot be said anyone who played it before played the same game difficulty wise but this is fine the game should be enjoyed by more.

The director did a very humble and awesome rarely seen these days live announcement/thanks/speech thing to tell people about the patch and other updates I didn’t include above including how the dlc has been being worked on for months prior the release, they shared a few art images of the dlc concept phase one of which has P on a wooden ship that appears to be the ocean but myself and others believe it to be clouds and this is them bringing in Peter Pan. Spoilers below if you haven’t beaten the game and watched the full post credits scene

The Dorothy thing is fantastic. I’ve seen this reported as a leak but I’ve not seen it imo it’s just a very interesting and likely theory that the guy who gives you the wish stone, and is the one on the train phone at the end is the Mad Hatter and has sent Dorothy there to recruit you for the sequel.

You can literally trivialize the entire game with throwables. Every single boss. It takes some effort to do this and if you frick up the attempt merchants might not have enough to do it again, but if you grind enough ergo to buy out all the throwables from merchants and the butler at the hotel I believe gets them eventually plus the generous amount you find nothing can even really posse a threat to you. Most people wont do this obviously since it is so far away from the very nice progress path they made but its still a factor.

A main complaint I have is they insist on either making the game easier by extending parry and stagger windows and lowering boss health because they want to or more likely to stop people crying but have done nothing to address the throwables issue nor how broken the element modifier stat is once you hit a certain cap similar to bloodtinge in bloodbourne

Couldn’t find the main thread but good news for fans of the game due to published financial reports the DLC is set to arrive between August and December 2024. We know there will be 2 very new settings/area’s minimum one is based on Peter Pan in some way and the other is unknown. It’s not been confirmed but since a sequel has been announced and is moving through pre production we can expect the Alice character to play some role minor or major.

Also for anyone who hasn’t checked into the game anytime recent many fans wanted the Alidoro outfit and the entire set including the mask is now given free of charge. Players can now be allowed to wear hats and glasses separately with a tab for each. Finally two other cosmetics were given for free Venigni hat (alchemist hat) and a new pair of glasses the great Venigni glasses

Finally for anyone who hasn’t played since maybe the second or third patch the rising dodge is no longer an unlockabke via p organ it’s automatic with your kit
