Lag time on Splatoon is annoying as frick

I just started playing this a couple of months ago. Great game....really fun. I've been noticing lag time on the game lately. I can shoot somebody 10 or 15 times and tey don't die. Then they kill me. Then while I'm respawning I'll see the message that I slatted them. Crap is annoying, but still freaking fun.

Over 120 hrs played here. Never had an issue.

I know. I googled it and lag time was the response. Today I seen a dude in my team start a full second ahead if the rest of us.
And what's up with people coming in to turf war and just jumping up and down in squid form. I stumbled upon the other 3 players on my team and 3 of the players on the other team all just jumping up and down. I killed the 3 on the other team and then my teammates followed me around shooting at me. Freaking stupid.

I've had that happen in SSB. I'd join a game where people would just be crouching and standing back up repeatedly without doing anything else. I have no idea why.
