What's you main weapon?

I think you invested a little too much into endurance and vitality.

You probably want to get strength or dex to 40 (35 + Knights/hunters ring) and put in a heavy or sharp gem into your main weapon for better scaling.

You can reallocate attributes at Rosaria for pale tongues (from invasions).

If he is two handing the knight sword, he does not need to dump 35 points in strength.

No longer home.

Look, I know I'm doing this wrong. Why I asked.

Nah. Just some small tweaks. Besides, we all fricked up our first Souls character.

If you raise your str a little you’ll be good to use heavier weapons. Great sword, great club, etc..

One of my best builds was a high str and high vitality build, surprisingly.

Yeah that's a good weapon. My favorite was Yhorm's machete. Good god I demolished everyone with that one.

I want to start a new playthrough too.

tune your vitality way down. get it to a point where you can be 25%-50% equip load for your favorite armor.

respec into something with lots of vgr, end, str, and dex. then forge a refined Lothric Knight Sword

I read that vitality helped with physical defense so I started spending on that as well.

It also helps with equipment load. But you can wear havel's ring and the ring of favor to increase your equipment load.

Vitality is good if you use heavy weapons and/or heavy armor. Always make sure your equipment load is under 70%. It does help with physical defense, but that's not a very important stat in this game since you're going to get your arse kicked no matter what.

Yeah dodging is your best defense. Only pump it up to an equip load of 49%. No need in only running 25% for a few extra iframes on a first run.

If I 2 hand a sword, do you go through stamina any faster?

That or dual wielding is kind of what I'm leaning towards.

Depends on the moveset. But the attacks do more damage as well.

So for dodgy, no shield, fast movement playstyle, what other than endurance do i focus on? I know you guys probably already said it.

at a certain point, it depends on your weapon, or a weapon youd like to use, and the scaling of that weapon to specific stat.

so if you like a sword that has A dex scaling, and you feel good about your health bar and stamina, start dumping into dex. that will increase the weapons damage.

this plus keeping your equip burden low

There are also gems to change the stat scaling for your weapon (like sharp, refined, etc.)

Explain weapon scaling to me please. It's been brought up a few times but u haven't had a chance to look it up.

Nvm. I think this explains it well enough.

scaling can get wild when you start adding gems and making crazy builds.

for instance you could gem your sword with a Dark Gem to make its damage scale off of Faith and Int, Lightning Gem for Faith build etc.

you would use these if you were doing a spellcaster build.

Scaling ranges from E to S. D scales better than E, C better than D, and so on. Gems improve the scaling. Using a gem allows you to change how a weapon scales based on the stats you've invested in.
