Slowly making it through the valley. Hit the second bonfire at the church. Used a shriving stone to strip my fire katana and replaced it with the sharp gem. Upgraded to level +7 and using it with great sorcery weapon.
Been clunking along in the other boards trying to rank my way through fights. But with spook and invisible man coupled with the new katana; I’m getting better results. Guess I just have to play the cheeseburger assassin I’ve built and not stray trying to be a knight at times.

I made a cleric in my Ds1 DoA play and am using a weapon I've never fricked with before. Crescent axe. Dropped from that frick Patches. A scales with faith . D for dex and str. Feels like a partizan or halberd with its reach.

Made my way down to the water under that bridge. Heard something behind me and it was that damn giant zombie rat that chased me in the beginning.
fricking thing scared the shite out of me. I have to think about how I’m going to collect the 25k in souls I lost. That’s how I know it’s a great game when it scares the shite out of you and gives you chills down your back when you finally beat a boss.

You can easily recoup that many and more by laying down a summon sign and helping other players as a phantom.
If you haven't already, buy the white soapstone from the shrine handmaiden. Then use it to put a sign down near the bonfires you're currently at. Its risk free (you don't lose souls when you die as a phantom) and enemies are only slightly more difficult.
I've been helping as a phantom right after Pontiff fight with my main invader build who now has 800k souls right now

Went back to 3, started a strength build and have already cleared High Wall and Undead settlement.

made it to the dlc portion of DoA. the damn descent into the abyss, area between artorias and manus elevator, was a major pain in the arse.

This faith build has been interesting but I'm not sure how viable it will be ng+.
Crescent axe scales A with faith but split damage on a weapon is always worse than 1 damage type. So a +15 with S A or B scaling will outperform it at high levels
I have sunlight blade and it's a nice buff but getting dark moon blade or the way of sunlight miracles without pvp seems a tough task.
The heals, lightning bolts, and wrath of gods makes for a unique playstyle at least.
Would probably need a pyro glove and power within to take down phantom O&S or ng+ 4k , but pyro dude has already peaced out from firelink.

thread got me back into DS1,though i bailed after dying twice to Capra.
now doing a dex/knife/bleed run in DS3, and its been really fun so far, but im only at Undead Settlement. Bleed is pretty cool, but jesus, when something is resistant to bleed, like those caged corpses, im just chipping away at health bars.
