I'm tempted to try a sl1 run...

It's fun. Definitely challenging early on, but if you're used to the game it's not terrible. More fun. Just have to be really careful early on and not drop any souls. And get the silver serpent ring asap. I do that before any upgrades at all. And avoid the master guy before you need to summon him for vordt.
shite, now I may do my NG today.

I've read the different routes. Won't be my first souls sl1 run.

I just use the same route regardless. But I always build to strength anyway.

I'll probably run raw broadsword early, then astora straight sword for the late game.

Started Ashes DLC. Met Friede. It might not go well for me if I pop her right now....I imagine.

No kidding. Just got there and she's already telling me to piss off.

So when you first get into the DLC, there's an NPC sitting there. Watched the first part of cowboy's playthrough and he said he still hasn't figured out the purpose for that guy.
Anyone have a clue?

To kill. Same thing in the ringed city.
I don't really know, but that's what I do to them.

Finally googled what this means.
Again, what is wrong with you?

That's when it's good.
I went back to High Wall of Lothric and was staring at enemies to kill them. Felt like a god.

In all seriousness, a sl1 run is just understanding the mechanics, baiting certain attack patterns, and patience.
And running your arse off to bosses

Deacons of the Deep Down!
(All honesty that has to be the easiest boss in the game)

They were not, but my first couple of times I wasn't paying attention and died from a curse.
So I beat the wolf in Ashes last night. However, my game didn't like me alt+tab'ing out of it for some reason and crashed a few times.
ETA Thinking on it, Ancient Wyvern is actually the easiest. You'll understand why once you do it.

SPOILER
You literally only have to run, climb, and plunge attack. Only once. I didn't bother with the rest of the mobs.
