I went and fought friede. Kicked her butt. Then I kicked her and her friends butt. Wait, there a third phase? Screw this. I'm out.

beat Friede 1st and 2nd phases with ease
get the ol' Blackflame Blessing" (read: arse whoopin)
beat 1st and 2nd phases again.
get the blessing again
get frustrated
start dying in 1st 2 phases bc you're frustrated
get back to 3rd phase and get humiliated again

I finally summoned her last night and we got to the last phase. We had her health down to the last quarter and my freaking controller goes dead. I think I woke the neighborhood cursing.

FWIW I couldn't tell you how many times it took to beat him on my strength build, but it was a lot.
It's a little easier when you can stay a good bit away and can chuck fireballs at him rather than play him close range with a melee weapon.

Got past the Crystal Sage. Went to the Farrow and just started collecting everything I could see that was glowing. I prayed to the Giant Wolf but didn’t join the club.
May have made a mistake on this part. I was about to go up the elevator by the Giant Sleeping Wolf but jumped off to see if I could grab his sword like Gundyr.
The elevator cannot come back down. Does anyone know how to or is this glitched?

There's usually a switch you have to pull to call the elevator back.

Yeah. I found it. I swear I have to walk away from this game sometimes. shite makes me rage! Lol

Good to see people still enjoying this game. Just recently finished a deprived run and started NG. Only took 3 times to beat the dragon. That was the most brutal to me. Nameless king was 2nd just due to the crazy camera.
Summons make this game a lot easier.
