The biggest thing it does is expand playable factions and unit unit rosters x100. It nerfs out some of the issues with the original like Marathas being way overpowered, and gives you a totally new HUD/interface for the game. It’s by far the best TW mod I’ve used, but I haven’t used anything for Shogun 2.

Big time Total War fan here. Rome 2 was hard for me to get into, but I absolutely loved Shogun 2 and the two Warhammer games. I also had lots of fun with Three Kingdoms as well.

This w/ Tiberius Mod. Playing as Aragon or Spain is a blast. England's a great faction too.

I played a full campaign with the dwarves in total war warhammer and I just felt like battles came down to who had more units. Then it became full squads of units vs another full squad and sometimes multiple armies at once and it just became too much to manage.

I don't agree. Some factions are reliant on brute force and overwhelming your enemy, but most of them require more than just bigger numbers. I love playing Wood Elves, but they're outnumbered on unit size by every other faction.

Just a heads up, Total War Saga: Troy released today and the full game is free on the Epic Store for the first 24 hours. Reviews are a mix of 7-8/10s.

Warhammer is an investment but so worth it. 3 is probably coming out next year.

The original Medieval was pretty fun, although the graphics were relatively primitive. I liked the river maps where you could fairly consistently set up a Stirling Bridge for the AI if you had any experience at all.
