for anyone getting the Wii U I would wait until the this month ends before you register your products at club nintendo for their points. which means waiting to get your free game till July.

the reason being that Nintendo's fiscal year ends the end of this month. any points you gain towards nintendo platinum membership will be lost at the end of this month. you'll have to start from scratch beginning in july unless you're able to reach platinum sometime between now and june 30th

They do. But it's my understanding the points earned toward platinum membership is different. Those points reset at the end of their fiscal year and you have to start over trying to earn the 600 points needed to reach Nintendo platinum

Is there a way to turn off the gamepad screen and still use it as a controller? I've turned off the screen but using buttons on it turns it back on. I try to save battery life but it seems destined to have a short life. That's my biggest issue with the gamepad.

Yeah the gamepad has a good 3hrs of gameplay and that's it. We want to purchase a 2nd because of this but it would be dumb, we might have killed it it 2-3 times.

How hard is it to use the Pro controller when you're used to the xbox? I think I may just stick with the gamepad and use my 2 wii motion plus controllers...

There's a power saving option on the gamepad

I didn't. The better buy is to buy the $299 bundle and buy MK separately. Then you are getting 4 games. That is the best bang for the buck.

What's the point of platinum anyways? I'm already there and can't tell a difference between it and regular

I haven't actually used a pro controller yet

however here's the dimensions for it

quote:

The Wii U Pro Controller weighs in at about eight ounces (227 grams), measures about 6.25 inches (15.9 cm) across at its widest point, about 4.75 inches (12 cm) tall and about 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) thick including the analog sticks. For a frame of reference, it is slightly thinner than the Xbox 360 Controller, particularly in the grips, though it carries the same basic size and shape
