They've rehashed old characters like the blacksmith and Onion Knight for no apparent reason. Even the albino gargoyles make an appearance.
The combat looks way too quick for someone to be in full armor. It reminds me of Bloodborne more than Dark Souls. Also the bosses and encounters in general look really easy.
You can get fire weapons right from the start. Say hello to OP PVP.
No open world. You fast travel everywhere like Demon Souls. Very lazy on the developers part.
Sorry guys but this game is gonna suck.

Souls bosses have always been fairly easy. The patterns were never hard to pick up unless you are a tard.

i'll take the bait.
ive seen some footage too and partially understand where you are coming from. a few things to consider:
this isn't necessarily a bad thing
the combat I saw didn't look great, yes. Dodge block stab repeat. However its early on... the game won't make everything available right away.
there is a quote I am familiar with.. "a player makes mistakes, a fan never makes mistakes". Meaning someone watching someone do something never fricks up because they aren't playing . Watching the best footage a reviewer chooses to publish may not be indicative of your first play through and difficulty experienced
customization isn't a bad thing in an rpg
this isn't new to ds3.
disheartening, yes. But if the level design is solid then it won't matter.
Sens is my favorite level from ds1 and its more or less "contained". One door in, and then you fly away afterwards. Same with anor londo
If the levels have minimal secrets and paths, boring enemies, and unimaginative design, then that would be a problem I agree

On world: There's a guy on neogaf that's worked on the game and said that it opens up shortly after the Undead Settlement area. There was a knee jerk reaction after the footage, including my own, but the consensus is that it's a false alarm - it is indeed interconnected. It won't be as big as ds2, but the areas will be MUCH bigger than any of those in the first two games.
Gameplay: I don't see any real reason to complain, it's a Souls game so you know what you're going to get. It certainly looks tighter and more refined than 2 - the broken hitboxes and tracking seem to be gone and battle arts adds a new dimension to PvE and PvP. The combat might be a little quicker but it's not Bloodborne... Like at all. If anything it's more like Demon's Souls, which is a good thing in my opinion.
Bosses: the bosses look easy because they were literally dumbed down for people to play the game and actually be able to report on it. Expect them to at least have far more HP and hit harder than in the footage.
And rehashing characters and fan service is nothing new. There are characters and enemies that are basically plucked right from Demon's and put in Dark, even though they don't share the same universe.
There are plenty of OP weapons right from the get-go in each game.

Oh good, another dark souls thread.
This time with more hyperbolic knee jerk reactions!
