I loved the game. Tried to platinum it but gave up when I realized I had to locate like 1000 birds.
Sometimes if I’m really stoned I’ll turn it on and play dominoes or just ride across the map.

Witcher 3 for me
RDR2 was to overwhelming for me. As in there was TO much to do. I got about 10 hours in and was enjoying it but as a completionist I would start it up and be like ok should I find a new horse? Poker? Camp upgrade? Hunt? Craft? Side quest? Main story? Trophy challenge? Then just say frick it and turn it back off. I know that sounds dumb and having “to much to do” should be a good thing but that’s how I felt. Will definitely return to it one day

Not even close. A lot of people don’t like it, and for good reason. I loved it because I didn’t mind the issues other people were having.

Same here. Great high game. Prettyness everywhere and it's an easy game to play. Goofing off in the game on side missions or achievements was fun high.

They should have made this aspect of it more urgent. They were trying to avoid the law and the noose kept tightening, but it felt like your parents just made you move again

Thought it was pretty boring overall interspersed with cool moments.
I much prefer RDR1.

I can’t accurately comment, because I don’t play enough games.
Aside from my old days of Goldeneye and Ocarina of Time, this is probably my favorite game I’ve played since then.
I think I personally preferred it to all the GTA games and RDR1 and BOTW (I always 100% those games, but sadly glitches prevented me from 100% in RDR2). I played over 90% of the game paused in Chapters 2 and 3. I took my time and accomplished and explored everything I possibly could before advancing the story. Very happy I did it that way. I played the game as if I actually was Arthur Morgan.
If I ever do another play through, knowing what I know, I’m going guns blazing and full wrath.
Edit to add:
(Spoilers)
I knew absolutely nothing about this game or story when I started it. A friend told me where to find a gold bar in the burnt out town. I knew nothing else going in…
I’m proud to say I actually discovered that alien cult cabin organically. I happened to ride by it for first time on a full moon soon after midnight. I got chills when I walked into the cabin and the lights came on.
Only other time I got actual chills and goosebumps was in the swamps and finding a hanging dead body and the night folk came out for the first time. Wow, that was incredible.

I still haven’t finished the intro because, well, it’s slow

I liked RDR2 a lot but I can't say I loved it. However I do think it should at least be in the conversation for best game ever. The amount of detail, world building, story and surprising lack of bugs was impressive.
I do think it's a bit too slow though. I tried playing it a second time but as soon as I started looting bodies and having to watch him go through the animation every single time I was like "no I can't do this again". Especially after playing games like Fallout 4 where the looting is so quick.
Also I felt like the game was way too easy. Halfway through it I had so many resources and tons of money with nothing to spend it on. IMO they should have different difficulty levels. I think a survival mode would've been great for this type of game

I started playing RD2 for the first time this weekend and the thought crossed my mind.
I will say this, it's definitely the best attention to detail in an open world game, hands down.
As other's have said, the looting is bad and it can be tedious. Overall very cool experience though.
