Already posted one win at Michigan and would have had 2 if the caution hadn't come out. Was 3 wide for the lead on the last lap and I had the outside line.

Congrats on your win.

Thanks. Couldn't finish a race after that. Would qualify on pole and get wrecked every single race. The draft kills you there by letting idiots pull back up on you and then just come up inside and wreck you.

Any recommendations out there for a decent budget wheel with or without pedals? I’ve tried shopping and am lost lol. I’ve been playing mostly F1 2019 on PS4 along with some Gran Turismo and Nascsr Heat 5

just went through my first season with Alfa Romeo playing on full race mode. It was definitely a grind.

Won a lot of races but also DNF'd a lot of races lol. About halfway through after DNF'ing my 8th or 9th race, I discovered that you can go back in time with the replay function so I cheated the second half of the season

Got comfortable with using the controller but am still considering a budget wheel if I can find a good one. Don't really want to spend more than $100 and am happy to stick with the controller if needed.

Standard seems to be G29.

I haven't raced at all lately. Last I did it was like I completely forgot how to drive.

You can check Amazon, I think I saw some budget wheels with fairly good reviews. Might be a little more than a $100 but pretty close. For the guys that will spend a little more as stated the G29 is a great wheel, Thrustmaster has some bundles that might be interesting to you on price, and they have a pretty good setup. G29 is made by Logitech if you were wondering, and they have pedal sets.
If you can get the wheel and pedals, you will enjoy your games so much more with them than a controller.
Oh, broke back in on the win cycle with Iracing last night, man that felt good.

Raced again yesterday and today for the 1st time in a month. Got demoted back to D class since my SR was so low. Grinding back with the street stock and legends. Though legends seems to hurt more than help really.

I finally got my A license and ran my first race last night at Bristol. Did the no qualifying start in the back thing to get a handle on how the racing would go. I tend to do a lot of test and practice laps before I race a track so I felt comfortable with running especially on some long green stretches.
I was impressed with the driving skill and how courteous the other drivers were, we did have some early cautions but they were one car spins or two cars just running hard. We finally got that long green flag run and it was my time to shine, at that restart I was P15 and with 12 laps to go I had caught P2 and was setting up to pass when the caution came out. Top 5 didn’t pit and we were caught by a couple of cars on new tires, one spun in front of me a I hit him and spun out. Finished P13, still happy with that and must say that was a fun race.

I ran my second race at Bristol and had pretty much same thing happen. Long green flag run, I get to P4 and with @ 10 laps left caution. I stayed out and at the green there is a pile up up front and caution in turn one, this time I don’t escape damage even though it doesn’t look bad I get the pit flag. With only a few laps I was tempted to stay out but every time I have with that flag I have blown an engine.
I pit and have like 56 seconds of required repairs, win I get the drop the pace car is right behind me, I kinda panic and hit the throttle too hard and spin in the pits. To make matters worse I have a car coming at me and I’m facing the wrong way. I put the car in reverse to spin back around and get out of the other cars way, assuming he will slow down seeing me backwards on pit lane. Well none of that happened, car was in first (panic remember) and the guy never slowed up so I hit him. Before I can say sorry I’m a dumbass this guy goes off with the stupid mother f*•ker on and on and that he will report me. I just tell him do what you got to do, but don’t forget your spin on restart on lap 7 where he took 4 cars out then rolled back on track wrecking another in the wall, I dodged him.
I guess people forget they make mistakes also, it’s racing. But when some get touched they act like they have Dale Earnhardt credentials and go off the deep end. Sad really that they act like the internet bully I just laugh and continue on, I know I can drive and own up to my mistakes. Btw I finished P8 passing some guys on the G/W/C and was happy with that. One of these races will stay green for me and I’m going to get my first A win. Haha.

Bad luck. I found some setups that are killing the legends as I'm trying to grind. Ryco-motorsports. They have setups all the way up to A class. They get pricier there of course. But I've won I think 4 legends races since I bought it.

Do they have setups for A open oval nascar? I have looked at several driving schools that also help on setups, at the moment I’m driving the A fixed nascar series so I don’t have to race and worry with a setup. It’s cool to know it’s more about driver than car setup, but the racing is hard especially at the start of every race. You have to run almost past what the car can do to keep close enough to the front to have a chance at a top 5 or win. That’s ok but it causes more wrecks in my opinion and chances are you will take some kind of damage. I have been doing quite well on the longer green runs so I’m curious if the open races might be different with less cautious? If they are I need to look into possibly switching because I know the races are a bit longer.

Yeah the truck races are double the length. Not sure about above that. They do have A setups. They just announced they reached a deal with some big builder. They're $15 a track though.

I'm now racing in the top split in legends and street stocks and modified. So close to 4.0 and then a retard causes a huge pile-up.

Made it back to C. Did 3 open races yesterday but wrecked in all 3. First 2 were just chain reactions ahead of me. 3rd was mostly my fault, running in the top 5 and came up on a guy. Those setups are wicked fast though. Ran in the top split in the 1st two but got moved back for the 3rd. So loose, but I qualified like 8th of 30 or so without having raced a truck for a month.

Congrats on moving back up. You have been there before so you are good. I hate when the wrecks in races that tend to collect you always seems to come in multiple starts. Never fails I get my I rating up then boom I’m in every wreck the next few races.
Keep digging you will be back up in A soon.

Thanks. I never made it to A, I was B before. But my SR is still high. I have noticed the open races are much faster than the fixed. It seems like they're a lot tougher.

I need to try an open race just to see what I think. I am loving the A fixed racing so far, I have watched several races and noted lap times of the top 5. I have tested my car in different settings trying to get the most speed and tire wear. So far I car run faster longer than any of the races I viewed. Now I’m working on qualifying, have had some fast laps posted but not consistently. I believe to pull off the win I will need a top 5 start if it goes long green runs, poll would be awesome. I want to get that first A win out the way so I can concentrate on top 5 finishes and take wins when they are there. I want to be consistent in finishing up front and avoiding the silly wrecks.

I'm still struggling to avoid the silly wrecks in the trucks. SR is still 3.76 but Dega is coming. What's your irating now? I'm hovering in the 1400 or so range.

Won my 1st race at Dega. That setup was a beast. Could pretty much pass when and wherever I wanted. Granted the SOF was 0.9k but hey, a win is a win.
