How do you successfully fund franchise in madden?

Tried to bring this up in other threads, but got no help. Figured I'd make a specific topic about it so that hopefully I can get help, as well as others having this problem.
I played a year of franchise mode with the Saints. I tried to re sign players week by week as they became available to negotiate. I tried to keep bonuses down a bit, while raising salary. A lot of players wanted a bigger bonus to sign though.
I ended up finishing the season with - 32 in funds. I could not sign anybody in free agency, but I did resign pretty much who I wanted from my team.
Tried to start season 2, but realized there was no way I was digging out of that debt by seasons end.
I started a new franchise with the Browns. Haven't signed anybody yet through 4 weeks and I'm at 42 mill.
Anybody have any tips on having enough funds to do everything you want to get done? Wait to resign players?? Really bump salary and drop bonus and hope they sign?

What's the differences between owner and coaches mode??
Is it just setting prices and relocation of franchise? I'm not planning on moving and I haven't ever really messed with prices. So if that's the only thing I'm missing out on then I can just do it as a coach and not have to worry about the damn funds.
I just generally want to control everything and have the greatest challenge possible. That's why I always go with owner.

Hell with that, Kroenke fired, and Rams going back to St. Louis IMMEDIATELY

No funds is a product of to many high salary players. You need to not resign some of those high salary guys or cut them and clear your salary cap.

I'm not talking salary cap space. I'm talking the owners money (money used in signing bonuses). I simmed first season with browns and ended up with 60 mill. Was able to get every signed I wanted, including free agency, and still end up with 30 mill. I will be good to go. I don't know why it was like that when I was the Saints, but seems I have it figured out.

Wasn't this your all LSU team?

The Saints were my all LSU Team. Ive moved on to rebuild franchise with browns. Not having the issues with them.

You need to figure out how to get taxpayers to fund your stadium rebuild, obviously. That frees up a lot of cash.

I'm confused with this, I haven't played Madden in awhile, so maybe they don't follow the exact rules of the NFL, but signing bonus' definitely count towards the cap

I just let a lot of guys go and made some trades. Willie Snead wanted a bunch of $. I got a better WR for cheaper. Cut down to one kicker instead of two, like they had. Actually cut both and signed a free agent.
I traded for DAK and he is good. Just traded Brees and Kennan Lewis .

If he was having money issues due to over signing he likely wasn't playing with the cap on anyways, and may have been what he meant.

Cutting players will put you in a bind as well due to penalties. Seems like he's got them browns up and running though

Yeah playing with the browns is good. It was probably something with the amount of money I was having to pay all the stud LSU guys. Playing with the Browns is petty fun. Will provide a updated tomorrow. I simmed season one just to get on with the building process. In week 5 of season 2.
