So who all is picking this one up? Haven't been following it that closely but what I have seen over the weekend has pushed me over into the buy category. The game looks gorgeous and is apparently really meaty in content and story. Anyways just seeing if anyone on here was looking forward to it.

also a little sneak peek

Everything I've seen on it looks incredible but it's Guerrilla can't exactly trust them. Still decided to pre-order tho.

Yeah the last game I really liked from them was KZ2, since then it was a downward trend. Always great graphics but thats about it. Sometimes a change of pace is what a developer needs, hopefully this is just that for Guerrilla.

Looks really good. I touched myself during the gameplay demo back at E3.

What open world game isn't repetitive, better yet what game? That critique runs hollow.

Look I know you hate Playstation but all those games have a similar gameplay loop, makes me think you haven't even played them.

Also a lot of people have been comparing this to the Witcher 3 so maybe it's more like that than you think. And the Witcher 3 was super repetitive, the sense quests in particular. Love the game but most of the missions revolved around the same thing minus the story.

lol don't hate it. I'm just a former PS fanboy that prefers other gaming platforms now. bought plenty of great games on playstation, my opinion on this game is it won't be one of those great games

but what's really going on here is you being the playstation fanboy that you are, got offended by my opinion of a playstation exclusive

played every game I listed.

Can we just wait until the game comes out, or actually see reviews of it before we declare it awesome or a failure?

I would be surprised if the reviews from the major gaming sites actually gave an honest, unbiased review for this particular game.

For example, let's take Engadget's review of the game. Here's a recent tweet from the author of that review -

And here are a few paragraphs from the review (which actually comprise a significant percentage of the entire review)...

quote:

There's something about Aloy. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's an enchanting kind of magic in the way she shoots a bow, speaks her mind and sprints across vast valleys littered with monstrous metal beasts. Aloy is powerful and loyal, an underdog outcast who rises to glory on an epic scale, and it's impossible not to root for her. She's as clever as Hermione Granger, as tough as Lara Croft and better with a bow than Katniss Everdeen -- and she's the reason I fell in love with Horizon Zero Dawn.

At one point a few hours into the game, Aloy and a high matriarch are confronted with a computer interface embedded in the bowels of a mountain -- the matriarch falls to her knees in supplication, convinced the All-Mother is speaking to them. Aloy doesn't flinch. She's spent her life on the fringes of Nora society, exploring caves filled with ancient technologies and learning howt o fend for herself.

It sounds like a small moment, but it speaks to Aloy's character as a whole. She's fiercely independent, maneuvering around conversations as readily as she does a spar. She believes what she can see, touch and kill, and she isn't afraid to use technology to her advantage.

The team at Guerrilla Games have created a powerful narrative headlined by an equally compelling protagonist: a young warrior desperate to discover her true identity and perhaps save the world in the process.

Oh come on, are you one of those people? So if it gets good reviews the sites are biased? Why would they be biased towards this game? Show me your peg board with red string.

So on top of reading the full review, you also read the reviewer's social media? Damn man, that's some deep research for a video game.

This may end up being a fantastic game...we'll simply have to wait and see. Based on my knowledge of how the current gaming industry and media operate, however, I can tell you that you're unlikely to get honest reviews for this specific game.

Ghostbusters, which released last summer, was one of the worst films of 2016. And yet, it's sitting with a 73% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I'm sure you know why.

Waypoint's preview of the game was actually what turned me off from buying it day one. They mentioned that it looks and plays well but it took itself too seriously and didn't have enough life in the story.

What's an example of a recent game the games industry gave dishonest reviews?
