Steel Soul isn’t required for the platinum. You do have to beat Pantheon of Hallownest though

The PC version of hollow knight has some extra achievements over the console version. There is soul steel 100% and a few speed run achievements

Nosk isn't that bad. You can avoid most of his attacks by standing against the left side of the platform.

If you stick with it long enough to at least get the mantis claw/desolate dive and you still don't like it, then it may just not be for you.

This is an understatement. Got it on Steam, played with an Xbox controller but could not get into it to save my life. Two years letter, my wife was out with her friends and I sat down and forced myself to play it until I knew enough about it to make an informed decision about it. Loved it after about an hour.

Fireb0rn is incredible. Check out one of the videos where he has 3 players trying to fight him every step of the way and he still can beat the game in ~45 minutes, or really any of the stuff with insane mods.
