I've had a Xbox S/X since release date with the factory controller, no issues.

Yesterday my kid was playing and turned off the controller only. When he tried to turn it back on, the controller turned in but was no longer synced to the Xbox. We have 3 xboxes in the house so my kids and I are well versed in syncing up controllers but never had any issues.

Basically, the controller will turn and light up but won't sync. Pressing the sync button on the Xbox and holding the sync button on the controller is a no go, nothing happens. Dame with plugging in with a cord. When I plug the cord into the Xbox the controller does do that quick vibrate but it does not sync.

Any advice?

I've never had this issue. I would suggest removing the battery from the controller and seeing if it will connect when you reinstall it.

Try it on another Xbox and update the firmware if it allows you to use it.

Try xbox, help forums, shockingly people do actually give a shite when it comes to helping people out.

I'm having a problem with a power brick in stand by, because of a power surge that hit while it was on, a few nights ago. Only the orange light comes on for PB, not the White.

I don't have a cord long enough to try another outlet, which many said can help situation to get it to reboot, and get out of stand by. I've done all of the power off stuff, looks like another outlet will be thing that gets it to work. we shall see.

Plugging it in not working is really unusual, might need to try on another box

I've had this issue sporadically. I unplug my xbox and then plug it back in. Weird, but seems to work for me.

Did OP ever get it to work?

My orange power brick was not in hibernation, it was deaded. I had to buy a new power supply. It wasn't a storm that shut off power, and xbone, it must of been a surge.
