Played through this game this week and got a game-breaking bug in the Garm fight. Lost part of my save file and rage quit.
I'd be singing this game's praises if not for this glitch, but apparently this bug has existed for years and they still haven't fixed it. I'm just going to pull up a YouTube video and watch the rest.

Smoke streamed this game a couple of weeks ago. Looks pretty awesome.

It was one of the most unique gaming experiences Ive had in a longtime. I loved it but never encountered any game breaking glitches. Play it with headphones.

I can't confirm this for certain, but I saw complaints about it on Steam forums from 2017 so I assume it existed on PC, although those people did not lose their save file and were able to just restart back where the bug happened.
I played on Xbox One, so it being found on PC and XBone would would lead me to believe that it does exist on all platforms.

Ugh, that's frustrating. Guess I won't bother downloading from Game Pass. Appreciate the heads up

FWIW I played on XBone about a year ago and never encountered any issues. If you can avoid the glitch or take a chance its worth the experience imo. You'll know in the first hour or so if it your bag or not. It was def in my top 5 games of last Gen. Like I said previously wear headphones. Its as much an audio experience (maybe even more so) as it is a visual one.

It really is a fantastic game. I screwed up in the Garm fight for my first death to any kind of enemy, and that led to my bug. Character came back to life in the Garm fight and was invincible. I backed out and then I had lost all of my progress through Garm's lair.
I'll probably go back and complete it at some point because leaving this game with only 3-4 achievements left will bother me, but watching the rest of the game on YouTube was good enough for now.

Dunno but steam users say backing out of the main menu then going back in fixed it. You may lose some progress or you may not encounter it at all. A sequel is coming too that is hopefully more polished and a more well rounded experience. As much as I love this game I'll admit the action and puzzles are a bit shallow.

I'm really not sure how I triggered it tbh. Honestly, none of the fights in the game are super difficult, so this shouldn't be a high threshold. If you're worried about it, you could put the game to easy for that fight (this does not prevent you from obtaining any achievements). I just got greedy in the fight and got rocked. Tried to hit him more times at once than I knew I should have. I should have been more patient. My game had auto-saved right before I started that fight so I'm not sure why it lost only some of my progress.

Just fired it up last night and I can't remember the last game I played that didn't have a tutorial explaining the controls.
Played it wearing headphones and the audio design is as good as advertised!
The devs also scared the sh*t out of me with the permadeath message, but after googling it, I think I'm fine

Honestly, I only died the one time. You should be more worried about dying and having a game-breaking bug hit you than dying so much you have to start the whole thing over.
ETA: That's more of a joke than anything. I honestly think this won't happen to you.

I sure hope not!
And I guess I really need to git gud, because I think I've died twice so far and I've only killed one boss (Valravn). Although, once I figured out how to parry and realized it was super OP, the boss wasn't too bad.

Dodging is pretty good too. I saw someone use kick on the shield mobs, but I couldn't get that to work.
