With the way console prices are trending you should just get a gaming pc. You can use a controller if you want
I have a ps5 pro and a pc. The ps5 is a very good system but a pc is more or less a forever purchase with just deciding to and how to upgrade on your own terms as you go

Right, which is why I, and others, recommended Xbox and Gane Pass to the OP. That is clearly the better system for what he is looking for.
The Switch comment was in response to the guy who mentioned PS for exclusive games. Nintendo is clearly the king of exclusives.

Exclusives outside of Nintendo are dying, for good imo.
I know you’re like the Xbox guy here but I don’t see how anyone could recommend getting one right now. They have made it very clear their goal and future is to be a software company

They've made it pretty clear they don't intend to stop making consoles. They even recently announced they are partnering with AMD in part to assist with creating the next generation of consoles. LINK

Build a PC is the best option.
If you must have a console with mainstream options, pick up a PlayStation.
Xbox has sucked shite for 2 generations now and will be an app soon. You’ll be able to get all Xbox “exclusives” on Sony’s platform.
I’m enjoying having a switch 2 but it’s definitely a lesser console for AAA offerings and you have less options.

A lot of the games are listed under ps4 like the last of us and the Witcher and god of war.
