You should consider stocking up on 2-3 years of Gold subscription then catch one of the $1 gamepass ultimate promos or even a one month 14.99 downloadable code as it converts your remaining Gold sub. 1 for 1 to gamepass

I needed a break from the Infinite grind so I switched to the MCC. Damn it feels good to be in familiar waters. I like Infinite very much but there is nothing like the old Halo games
ETA: surprised how easy it is to find matches considering Infinite is out. Hell even for firefight which is just a feel good time

My buddy is struggling real hard with this game and ended up in silver too, we’ve been trolling him non stop about it
Game is great, ranked is pretty awesome
They need more ranked playlists, TS, Duos, FFA (all with BR/radar)
BTB requires a BR start, it’s so stupid without one

For controller users, What buttons have you mapped to your controllers paddle buttons? I would assume jump and maybe melee?

I play claw so paddles on the right don’t really work. I have jump and crouch on my left paddles.
Games been fun. Ranked in as diamond 1 up to diamond 5. They need to add stuff because most casuals will move on if there’s not more game modes and content

For paddle controller users… do the elite controllers really help that much? I play the HellJumper layout but I just don’t really like right stick melee.

Might be a dumb question, but they are limiting the maps for this beta, correct? Minus the one time I dabbled in BTB, I feel like I've only seen 3 so far.

Ive seen 4 I think. The bazaar looking one. The small asian city looking oddball map. The 2 that look similar but one has the middle platform and the other has like 3 levels and a big open middle. (I don't know names yet)

10 maps total, 7 for quick play (which is all I've really done)

I cant speak of the elite controllers but BB right now has the power A controllers (2 paddles) discounted to like $47 with 2 year protection plan (~$15) that allows for replacement when the controller inevitably gets stick drift.

Details complaints so far:
1. Not separating out slayer from objectives in concert with the crappy progressive objectives for leveling up, leads to frustrating play. People wont play objectives in ranked sometimes. I mean shite. I had the ball for 1:45 and jackass teammates would pick it up when I eventually died. Had a 70 pt lead and they coughed it up.
2. I hate BR starts. Mostly because I suck with it but I think it’s a bit too easy to use for those who are good with it.
3. Useless fricking weapons. Commando is garbage. I want my DMR back.
4. Some of these 4v4 maps are too damn big. And without radar, you can constantly get smoked coming around a corner.
5. I hate the highlighter effect on teammates. It’s often not clear enough who is who.
6. Aiming and recoil feel off.
7. Micro-transactions and the BP era is bad for gaming in general. And 343 has handled it as poorly as possible.
8. Not a fan of the nade spamming covering up shitty player skill.
9. Spawns are bad.
10. Map control doesn’t seem to exist really.
11. Respawn too long.
12. The UI is arse. You shouldn’t need to click as many times as you do for postgame stats.
13. Shotgun is abhorrent and a useless POS. Whoever neutered it to hell should be punched in the face.
14. I smell shenanigans not being able to see the competitions rank in ranked pkay post match.

Does it not show up when you click on their name in the scoreboard? I thought it did.

I dont think I can go back to playing without paddles at this point. The goal is to never take thumb off right stick. Taking finger off Aimer to jump is a big disadvantage.

I have sprint, crouch/slide, and reload/X on my paddles. That is my Destiny set up, haven't tweaked anything for this game, but those have been working fine for me.
