I've said repeatedly that I could understand someone liking the game, but that it has taken the biggest step away from early Halo.

What button layout is everyone using?
I've always used whatever was closest to the default on H2 (think they started calling it "recon"). I have a feeling that won't work, or possibly even be available on H5.

I very much know how to use them to my advantage. Just bc somebody doesn't like the game doesn't mean they suck. A MP that used to be based on skill and smarts is now based on button mashing. I've been playing since CE. 8v8 BG CTF with 15 other friends. I played Halo 2 from launch to XBC days to MCC. I played Halo 3 from launch until the release of Reach. I then played Reach for about a year and realized it was garbage and quit. Did the same with Halo 4 but it only lasted about 2 weeks. Halo 5 MP is fun and solid but its not Halo. Its better than Halo 4 and Reach but falls well short of the original trilogy. Guess its time to go back to MCC.

This is how I know you didn't really understand nor play CE to the level you played the other games. The AR melts the Pistol at close range because unlike Halo 4 and 5 it takes actually skill to use the pistol. Also the AR gave you the ability to quick camo which was huge. Don't act like the pistol was a "who can get off three shots first" deal. We can get on MCC right now and from any range you cannot kill me in three shots with me not even shooting back. Strafing actually is a major skill in CE.

It definitely was. Maybe not three shots, but three head shots. I guarantee you, at close range, me with a pistol, and you with an AR, that I could shoot 6 times, connecting on 1,4, and 6, and I would kill you before you could kill me with an AR. And this isn't me talking shite and saying "play me", I'm saying that if you went at somebody with an AR head on who was decent and using a pistol, you are going to die.

I started the switch to Bumper Jumper when the MCC came out and have fallen in love with it. I just wish I had an elite controller to move dash to one of those back paddles instead of X.

Considering I only use ADS basically the same way I used in the old Halo's it isn't much of an issue.
The fact that you get taken out of ADS whenever you get shot makes it basically unusable in most situations.
