Want to wait a decade between GTA releases? Fine. But at least release some expansion packs or *something* for fans that have no interest in multiplayer.
thats how we got Vice City and San Andreas between GTA 3 and GTA 4.

And those are arguably the most memorable of the entire series. Those had their own personality.

A numbered title should be reserved for a next generation console. Launch the 6,7,8, etc. with the new console. Then followed by the unique stand alone titles with personality also on that console. Let those titles also connect to the same multi-player lobby.

We should have had 3 more stand alone games since 2013, and #6 should have been out this year.

It's hard to believe that III, Vice City, and San Andreas came out on PS2, IV and V came out on PS3, and two console generations later, nobody really knows when/if VI will be coming out.

The fact that they were being so secretive prior to the release of this remaster says so much about who this company is now.

I just can't get over how they can be okay with releasing this shite as the "Definitive" edition of the three games that put them on the map, at least as far as consoles go.

Should I wait a while for the bugs to get worked out on this one, purchase old physical copies of the games for 360, or find a way to get modded versions of the old game on PC knowing that they were removed from Steam?

I've only ever played the console versions. But people that played the pc versions seem pretty universal in feeling like the mods that Rockstar pulled were far superior to this remaster.

If you'd rather play on a console, I'd wait to see what happens with patches/updates.

It seems like the gaming industry is starting to think that it's too big to fail. This fiasco shows why gaming should never go to all digital. I'm guessing that the people that downloaded the original games just lost them. How is that not stealing?

Atari used to think that they were too big to fail. The E.T. (along with lots of other crappy, expensive games) happened and the industry was pretty much dead until the NES came out.

Consumers need to stop buying unfinished games on release date and keep the demand high for physical copies.

People who already owned the old games never lost them. They remained available for me to download on Steam as I pleased. You could just no longer buy them if you didn’t already own them.

That's good to know. I have VC and San Andreas on PS3 but hadn't checked to see if the games were still on there.

Just found out about today's update. I think I'll try to watch a few reviews on it before I get too excited about trying to play it again.
