Not even debatable. Bowser admitted when he left. Immediately after his departure, T2 partnered with some group that was complaining about all the punching down of marginalized groups. Next thing you know they started carving out portions of the game and adding elements to celebrate the marginalized fans.
The one thing I think will ultimately surface is that some of the explanation for delays was the developers went full tilt, and a decision was made to rewrite portions tone it back. That will be immediately noticeable if the story and characters seem disjointed and nonsensical like the last couple years of online heists have been.

Doesn’t appear they are going to push the reveal date WestCoast laid out due to its leak
Retailers will have had it set far in advance and for something this big it’s not something you can adjust on the fly a few days before.
A massive marketing push likely planned on for years ready to be put into motion.
Call of duty is the most aggressively and annoyingly marketed video game most years. I expect GTA 6 to make it look like an indie marketing campaign. Which just guessing off how much Activision has admitted in court fillings for the cost of making CoD and its marketing it’s not crazy to guess a total marketing spend between 400 million and 800 million.
This would push the price of making and marketing this game almost 3 billion dollars
Take 2 is fricking nuts and taking the most insane risk in gaming history, granted it likely pays off but what if it doesn’t?
If they sell 25 million copies at an average price of 70$ (yes I know some will pay more) they will make 1.75 billion before distribution cuts on console which are 30% so Sony and Xbox get around 500 million of that.
I’m sure they’ll make it even one way or another by way of when it comes to PC in a year; GTA online; etc it’s just an insane amount of cash for a video game

Then multiply that by the people that will buy it again on PC, then again in a couple years on PS6, and then again on PS7…

Their CEO has stated over and over and over again because people never stop asking him anytime he sits down for an interview about any subject at all that marketing for this will not kick in until “the summer”
I take that to mean July.
Plus we are going to experience potentially one of the single most stacked Septembers for potential banger releases in my memory all in effort to distance those titles from GTA in November

Ridiculous. The video in their pinned post on Twitter lists a release date that has already passed. They should have at least released something before that date.

I’m starting to think this might be the smartest marketing campaign of all time. Don’t produce any trailers or previews and let the lack of content drive everyone nuts. Maybe Drop some fake breadcrumbs here and there that gets everyone’s hopes up. Nothing happens, repeat the process. Rockstar gets Free advertising, tons of engagement and they do not have to lift a finger or spend a dime

All this is doing is making the rumors it will be woke/won't "punch down" seem likely true.
