I'm recently bought a Surface Pro 4 for work and would like to use it for casual gaming while on the road. I don't own any consoles, but I've seen pictures of people using an Xbox controller with them. I bought the i7/16gb to be safe in case it would be needed for anything, so I'm hoping speed won't be an issue. I'd be more interested in sports games or GTA than skyrim, etc. What are my options for gaming on this device and how would I go about setting it up to do so?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to get some light gaming out of it (The Sims type games). You could probably play Skyrim but not on the highest settings. Outside of that, it's not a gaming rig. It's made for business. I had a surface pro 3 and I LOVED it and will probably buy another surface in the future. But I always used my desktop for gaming

Does it have an integrated graphics card?

If you don’t know, then it most likely has the intel integrated graphics card which will make it hard to run games like gta and others

But for setting up the games, just get everything through steam or the Microsoft store

Only sports games on PC are golf, FIFA and 2k basketball, and those won't play well on the surface. The integrated graphics isn't very powerful for modern titles.

You might be able to get away with low settings on a low resolution

I wouldn't. I would be worried about overheating it.

It is simply not built for gaming.

I would have gone with a Surface Book over the Pro 4 for gaming. But yours should be fine for light gaming.

The most graphics intensive game I played on my Surface Pro 2 when I first got it was Assassin's Creed 3 and it didn't have much trouble at medium-low settings.

Yeah, I bought it primarily for work. There is just a lot of down time so it will be something to keep me busy

civilization 4 or civ 5 would probably be awesome on it.

crusader kings 2 wouldnt have any trouble running on it

if you like sports games maybe look at front office football
or one of the older football manager games (2015 isnt much different from 2017)

I used to love the Age of Empires games when I was younger. I'm assuming Civ 4/5 would be similar to those?
