Flight Sim games

When I was a kid I was big into the flight Sim games. Started with the red baron games and eventually played a ton of aces over Europe and pacific. I know I played plenty of others but the aces games were my favorite. Star wars X wing fighter was also da bomb. I had a joystick with a hat and prob 4 or 5 buttons. I thought it was hot shite. I tried playing AOP on PC a few years back but it was too dated. What are some good relatively modern flight Sim games for PC or switch? Not specifically combat games. I know MS flight Sim came out relatively recently but as a kid I remember thinking that one was boring.
Also for the sake of discussion, what's your all time favorite flight sim(s)

Considering that the F-14 was capable of speeds of Mach 2+, about 45 minutes.

kinda works out because the game is free and starts you with a p-51 and a Frog Foot.

There is apparently a good amount of free mods to use, but apparently DCS is by far and away the best and and most accurate combat flight sim currently.

See I think as a yute I just didn't have the patience for flight Sim and now as an adult I think if I had one of those badass rigs or probably just a vr headset nowadays it would be pretty awesome, but I still wouldn't have the time

If you want realism, play DCS. If you want fun, play Ace Combat or Project Wingman
