Yeah, they merged the old servers.. so your character isn't on Lindblum anymore. We were originally on a server but left our server for Gungnir when we were given the chance.
I'm thinking you will have a chance to pick your "current server" or chose to "change servers" when the time comes.
All I know, is changing servers was a bit scary at first, but ended up being a great thing for all parties involved for us.

Sound like you play about as much as sicboy and I will be playing..
btw, sic, did I tell you I will probably be joining BNYC for ARR? With my life being so crazy of late.. I will HAVE to join a linkshell that is a bit more laid back.

It depends I can very much get into MMOs. I was one of the first 50s in SWTOR on my server but the first launch of FF just bored me. I am hoping for more.

Sounds like it might be best for you to just start from scratch if you are going to play, to learn the new system..
Andvari is always the resident "crafter" it seems lately.. I maxed out 4 crafts before the servers went down.. I started the Jan. before, played til late July... I had a problem

I generally give all MMOs a try, but very rarely do I stick around for long. Only western one I really liked was Guild Wars 2, but even that one has kinda cooled on me. The two I stuck the longest with was FFXI (2.5 years) and Tera (about 1.5 years).
PSO1 is one of my favorite games of all time, but I never played it online. I'd do pretty much anything for PSO2 to be half as fun as PSO1.

shite I played XI for like 5 years and quit 3-4 years ago (right after the WoTG release, whenever that was)

So they are keeping all servers with players how they were? I am so low I may want to start on a new server so I will just start off same level as everyone else.

I was on Shiva. I started out with a BLM. I played for awhile but something happened (I don't remember I was like 12 or 13) and I stopped. Started back up on Shiva with a RDM/WHM. I went that build because healers were always in high demand, and I could be a hybird damage dealer, backup heals.

XIV has taught me something kinda crazy.. how on earth did the XI community put up with such an unbalanced system!?! There were only a handful of jobs people would use.. ever, and they never "fixed" it either..
XIV in general, for as much as i complained about PLD being gimp.. by the end, was very even, and ever job had / will have / a role.
