Yep, it’s the two types of PMC’s. When you set up your character, it describes BEAR as being former Soviet special forces soldiers. They’re employed by Norvinsk region officials (where Tarkov is located) to uncover what Terra Group was doing in this zone.
USEC is worldwide private military that works for TerraGroup to destroy any evidence of wrongdoing by their employer, TerraGroup. I’d imagine this would be former US, British operatives

That happened to me planting something in factory but the quest completed at least. I don’t like that map much

Also not a fan of the PMC Karma system proposal. I can't tell the difference between the two.

i always hesitate when i see someone. scavs are little easier to distinguish, but my hesitancy has gotten me killed numerous times.

i chose USEC. is BEAR what Lupo selected? the flannel wearing baws?
i wonder if the PMC system they're talking about is USEC vs USEC and BEAR vs BEAR.... maybe.

Most American players pick usec since their lines are in English while bears are in Russian.
It’s probably somewhere around 75/25 usec/bear on US servers
One of the perks of bear is being able to trick other pmcs into thinking you’re a scav by using voice lines.

That’s an interesting scenario. I was watching Lupo and some guards on lighthouse started attacking him because he was a BEAR. Said he wasn’t going to pick that one again lol

Yeah lighthouse has an area guarded by usec raiders that shoot bears on sight and usec players if they get too close or frick around too much.
