I'm the farthest thing from a postmodernist.

This argument is more or less pointless as while I respect you and even like you neither of us is going to move the needle for the other in any way. Let’s just agree to wait till launch and see whose right

So much so that you probably had to google how to spell it.

Again, we're not saying it's going to be a big success. No one is arguing that point but you.

You might not realize you actualized a lot of post modern philosophy but you do. In this thread alone. A major red flag of this is something that has a fancy name among the 15 or logical fallacies I can’t recall but it basically boils down to on a debate you deliberately omit almost all of your opponents argument and boil it down to as if it is something that is crazy because it seems so denied that context. The example here is acting like the past 6-7 years of examples and pattern reckonition aren’t part of my argument or observations. I don’t think you’re actually doing this maliciously just like I don’t think sicboy is malicious but you and many other people do it all the same.

Now you’re retreating from where you started changing what is an easy extrapolation from your initial claim that there’s widespread hype for this game to you believing it’ll be a success. Why obfuscate?

Stop. I believe in absolute truths. But video game opinions don't fall under them.

It’s not an opinion. It’s an observation based on pattern recognition and the actual real groundswell of gamer sentiment not only to this game but souring on the games using this concept overall. You can be pedantic and call that an opinion but there’s clearly a distinction between the two

I said the chatter I've seen about it has been mostly positive. That's it. Games have had positive buzz going in and then bombed. It happens.

You're making the claim that there's irrefutable proof that this game will be a disaster, which is what I was pushing back on. Not anymore.

No... it's an opinion with assumptions that what you believed has happened in pockets of the industry have factually happened with this game. Which is one of those logical fallacies you can't recall the name of.

Since then, they’ve circled the wagons a bit and are going back to their two classic IPs: DA and ME.
That they have done diddly shite with, as they have STILL been putting EVERYTHING into Anthem.

If the lesson they learned was “we did nothing wrong, new IPs are just hard; let’s do the same thing, but with an old IP!” It will be a disaster.
Having been a longtime fan of Bioware, pre-EA, I can assure you this is more the mentality.

They have already admitted that this will not really be a party-based game in the same way the others have been.

You know, the thing people enjoy about the games?

This is akin to Bethesda saying "the next Elder Scrolls game will be an on-rails game, rather than an Open World"

I swear BG3 comes out, does everything right, Bioware sees it succeeding and thinks "maybe the opposite of all that will be successful!!!!"

Dated Fortnite models, Ps3 textures and graphics, turning a party-based game into a single character game, making every character bisexual. . . .

. . .not to mention the most recent decision by the company regarding one of the greatest RPG IPs in video game history (Mass Effect).

What gives you confidence that they have learned from their mistakes?

Ok I’ll make a concession. There’s not irrefutable proof. There’s just an overwhelming amount of factors indicating it’s failure is unavoidable. So yes I was incorrect if I ever stayed it was irrefutable or suggested it. See I’m not a dick

People today love using top-tier words for effect

It is annoying. Why not just say many, or a lot?

Sorry if that annoys you. I’m a linguist amongst other things like a syndicated journalist so I often use unnecessarily long words I suppose and can be long winded. It’s not intentional to be annoying just how I’ve been condition through years of being in human intelligence in the military then my bachelors and masters

It isn't the size of the words. I have a greater than 5th grade vocabulary, as well.

It is what the words mean vs how they are being used,

It is like Millenials and Z'ers using "literally" and such

Those words have meanings.

When I say top tier, I don't mean they are difficult to understand, I mean you jump to "overwhelming" instead of "a lot"

Just like instead of something being "not as good as other thing", it has to be complete dogshit. . .worst thing ever.
