i was a day one D3 player. one of the more disappointing gaming experiences. I had high hopes for d3 and i bounced hard. i am not getting that feeling about d4, atleast, not from the limited view we have had.

I can forgive a lot, but what made two so great imo, was the boss runs you could make and the loot. The fricking loot was great. Legendaries were great. Mephisto runs were great. 3 had none of that.

I remember d3 vanilla. Act 2 torment was insane. Eventually it got much better. I'm expecting the same with 4.

Seems like Nvidia released drivers for the open beta too.. have them downloaded and hope the game is smoother for me tomorrow than the first weekend of the beta. Don’t think there were special drivers then?

Nope the closed beta didn't have any. This open beta has a patch with bug fixes and drivers.

I’ll probably buy the game but I think it definitely needs work on the server side. I’ll just chalk that up to being a beta flooded with people. I haven’t seen this much rubberbanding and disconnects in a game in…ever?
It’s funny that I have no performance issues fighting huge moms yet can have FPS randomly tank walking around open areas and towns. It’s like it’s loading the next area or something - and sometimes it just happens for seemingly no reason.
What is wrong with the game in this regard?

Necromancer with corpse explosion might be my thing to do in Diablo in general but also loving chain lightning with mage too.

I HATE the way the necro skeletons look. Corpse explosion animation sucks as well. This game could be really good but it needs a ton of work. I wish they would delay the release.

played for about 3 hours with a buddy and the town portal never unlocked for me. T does nothing and the portal icon in the HUD is missing.
Eta: somehow unlocked it by replaying the prologue alone.

Not at release because the deal won't be finalized yet. I guess "close" depends on definition. I'd say within a year of release is pretty close. Close enough to hold off on purchasing.

Got some solid game time in last night.
I played barb last weekend. I had fun but overall i kinda felt he was weak. he started to shine more at the end at lvl 25 as gear got up there but still, tackling bosses was challanging.
played necro last night, god damn helluva difference. Steam rolled everything and bosses are cake walk.
fair warning to anyone who want to solo D4, maybe dont go Barb. i think they will be really good for teams, and maybe high end game with gear they start to shine, but definitely not in the beginning.
