How is it terrible. Have you not played either of those games? They are identical.

Looks like Im not the only one that thinks that.

Imagine Borderlands set on the Just Cause 2 island with the Left 4 Dead style of zombies, featuring a quest system similar to Fallout 3 and the weapons system of Dead Rising 2. Blend all of that together, and you get Dead Island; or, as Deep Silver likes to refer to it, a "first-person zombie slasher action RPG."

This game has nothing in common with L4D, the only reason people compare DI to L4D is because they both contain zombies.

You act like there are original ideas in video games these days. Everything has pretty much been done to an extent. If you don't like it then don't play it. Who cares what it copies or rips off as long as it's fun to play.

There are some undeniable similarities, but the problem I have with your opinion is that Dead Island improves upon the games it is based on. I prefer the visceral first-person experience combined with a deep loot/modification system. Something not avaliable in either L4D or Dead Rising.

I agree that it is an improvement on both. I think it took the 2 games and added to what it could have been. I wish I could pick up a surfboard/ umbrella and smash it into a zombies face. But I just got to Act 2 and I here it gets better from there.

It's much like the saying that movies follow the same basic 13 story lines. I say if it's fun go ahead and enjoy it. BTW, that truck is great for clearing areas out. I like to use it to take out the thugs so I don't have to waste my weapons on them.

Fwiw, I like it so far. I'm a huge fan of sandbox games though.

Going back and forth is a little tedious. Could have a little better fast travel for me, but that's a minor gripe.

Don't you love it when an escort decides to run to a destination rather than taking the truck.

I've only done one escort and the a-hole decided to take the long way.

Yeah, our group burned the person we were supposed to escort. It was pretty tragic really.

That's what he gets! If you want to get somewhere safe you better listen to me. And pick up a damn weapon!

Hahaha, I thought it was a zombie because I mean he broke down and was really graphically burning and stuff. We were all beating on him and then......SURVIVOR KILLED

I'll always remember Joseph's final moments. He should have learned the valuable lesson the rest of us did during the course of the night. When a member of the team is holding a propane tank, no one is safe.

I've already blown myself up twice
