Pretty impressive. Reminds me of Artorius. Minus the front flips

Most players are ridiculously leveled at NG+7, I think I'm 147 there.

I think I'm going to go after the black knights, Havel, and the Hellkite before moving on the the Darkroot Forest.

Damn, was this a kill as little as possible run to ng+ ?
I'm usually well into the upper 150 levels doing the dlc

I kept burning bonfire ascetics at his bonfire. So I had to fight him 6 times in a row; I beat him easily at that point with the red tearstone ring, but once I got to NG+7 everything one-shot me so I wasn't able to use it. Would taken MUCH less time. I have another character on NG+5 and running to the bosses is pretty optimal, I never wear armor so everything two-hits.

Are you playing with player created messages enabled ? Troll shite like "jump here" etc.

I read them but use discretion lol

Yeah.
They add a little character to the environment
Another dark souls protip:
Gravity always wins.
I can't wait until you get to sens fortress

Thanks to a pep talk from Pectus, I killed my first black knight.
Eta: and I did it by parrying all of his attacks

Once you've finished your first play through I suggest going on youtube to learn about the lore. It's worth it IMO. You don't realize how deep the story really is while you're playing b/c you're trying to avoid death and smashing your monitor the entire time
EpicNameBro
TerraMantis
SilverMont
VaatiVidya
Those are some names that come to mind for some good lore vids. It actually made the game more enjoyable for me b/c I'm too lazy and/or stupid to figure out the lore for myself

In your defense only like 5 people understand the story from just playing it and not watching those videos... and like half of the YouTube channels don't understand it and just steal from the others

That, and while I don't think it's all bullshite, it's funny to me how easy it is to make things fit your own narrative. With that said, I give you the ultimate DS lore video: The Legend

The story is really just about power, fear, blind faith, and about how shitty humanity is.

when your story style is minimalist, it allows for rampant interpretations of everything... it's what makes DS so good, YOU create your own story. Before watching the YouTube videos my story was, I was awesome and trying to break some curse, and it was fricking hard to do it.
At the end of the day:
quote:
The story is really just about power, fear, blind faith, and about how shitty humanity is.
and I would also add, it shows how blindly we frick everyone over in pursute of immortality, there is no good or bad when all you can think about is the immortality that you gain from ultimate power... and how we lose our own "humanity"

My theory is that there is no 'undead curse,' it's simply the natural form of mankind as it returns to dark and the prophecy is an obvious lie perpetuated by Gwyndolin and Frampt. Your character is arguably the most evil in the games - you're the one seeking out the old lords and killing them for the sake of someone else's cause. You're nothing but a pawn - either of Frampt and Kaathe or the Emerald Herald.
One of the things I appreciate most about the world is that it isn't black and white, no good and evil, there aren't any mustache twirling villains - they've either tragically fallen to darkness or in the pursuit of power.
