In her situation, we definitely are the bad guys. We gain little from killing her.
Her backstory is sad and she should be saved, not destroyed.
I'm sure there is a series on it out there, but is there any theory about the cut content allowing us to free her?

Supposedly she was going to be either the hero or a mentor who teaches the art of life steal, allowing for us to kill the gods. That was taken out though.
That may just be an opinion of someone who looked through the code though.

OK, so just finished ds2... I wonder if the land of dranglaic will somehow go down in history as the place where the cursed are sent from the world in ds1
Is odd that every time you die in ds2, it's like you get more curse from ds1. Also the weapons are almost like they are cursed as well with their degregation compared to ds1.
I mean you are called "the cursed undead" so what if this while area is an offshoot of the ds1 area, the entire first scene in the opening cs you are in lordrain, but then you go through the portal at the beginning, taking you far away, to a place now called dranglaic
I always thought of dranglaic as the same place as lordrain, just many many milinia later... Not so much anymore.

The impression I got was that undead are drawn to any kingdom of light, a place of power that is capable of linking the fire, it just so happens that it's Drangleic in DS2. I don't necessarily think Drangleic resides over the ruins of Lordran like some think; Gwyn threw the whole world into a cyclical chaos and the cyclical nature applies to various kingdoms rising and falling through the course of time.
The undead curse is something mankind thinks they can cure by linking the fire when all it does is delay the onset. In my opinion, undeath isn't really a curse, it's simply the natural state of man as it returns to darkness - watch the opening cinematic to ds1 and notice the beings stumbling towards the flame - they're 'hollows.' This includes Gwyn, who isn't free from the curse and this to me means that are no real gods in Dark Souls, only power and those who are in search of it to bend the world to their liking. And your player character is used as a pawn to achieve such things at the benefit of those seeking power.

It's a sarcastic comment. I just figure if I make it through blighttown, I'm home free.

Blighttown isn't THAT bad. You'll do fine.

don't let O&S smack you on your way out the door

seriously, I have died in Anor Londo in 1 day more than I did in the entirety of Blighttown... it's pretty ugly

P.S: I just request Larry's Thread to be deleted.. let's all put it out of it's misery and do the same thing

Yea, it really isn't that bad. Just make sure to have plenty of cure poison and you'll be fine.

The game doesn't really get hard until after blighttown

Don't even really need that. The poison is such a slow effect, I largely just ignore it.

If you're speaking in context of dying, yes. But its tedious and unceasingly annoying. Least favorite area in the game. Although, it does have the Great Hollow, so its I guess its not all bad.
Posted on 2/18/16 at 8:36 pm to BleedPurpleGold
Yes, tedious...lost 15k souls and then forgot where I lost them
I don't have the patience for it tonight.
Eta: changed my mind, made it to the bonfire in the swamp. Wasn't too bad.
