You must have let knight lautrec out his cell in the church. He will eventually kill the firelink firekeeper. I may be wrong but I think you can invade his world later on and reverse this.

You can, this happens regardless of whether you let him out or not fwiw, but you can prevent it by just killing him in his cell

Ya, he looked cool but had evil voice and i instantly regretted it. Crestfallen Coniptions told me a guy got crowed back to the Asylum, so i thought it might be lautrec.
I followed the trail and fought all the flaming hot dogs. Of course theres a surpise and i got squished and wont be going back for awhile. I think maybe i can use the orb over there kinda like in DS3 with the finger questline.
But dont tell me cause im going pretty blind on this run.

Ok well if you catch up to me. I might get you to help me with a boss. I'm stuck not much farther than you and there is never any players to summon, only people invading me.

For sure! Might need your help as well, it sounds like.

Those games are funny about coop help. The other ones you had to be within a soul level range to be able to play together. That way I guess you couldnt have your beefed up friend come drag you through....but I'm on my first playthrough and just left blighttown and I'm in the next area.

I finally beat orenstein and smough. Whewwww. Ended up just killing orenstein first and dealt with super smough. Was really picky just wanted to beat them but it really wasnt that bad once I figured out smough. Never could get the hang of getting away in time of his arse slam but a win is a win.

Finally beat the game last night. I was getting so discouraged on the final boss, but I finally found a strategy that worked. I ended up using my halberd to beat him.

so, im hesitant to look it up in a guide cause spoilers, but i have two boss souls and not sure what to do with them. im in Sens Fortress, presumably on my way to Anor Londo. have i just not met the NPC to forge boss weapons yet?
will prob just eat them anyway for those sweet souls. gotta get a few more dex pts so i cant wreck shite with a Black Knight Sword.

word. thanks. i already munched on quelaag cause im greedy but i still have moonlight butterfly's.
its a good thing I played DS3 first, cause my opinion on that game is steadily dropping. last night i got frustrated in Sens so went for a stroll around Lordran. went down to the Valley of Drakes until i came across a big arse "dead" dragon surrounded by messages. so i smartly Noped out of there. an hour later, after many different areas, enemies, items, close calls, and a bitchin Havel fight, i ended up on the OTHER SIDE of the same dragon. mind blown. it killed me.
i always heard about how brilliant the world design was, but experiencing it is something else.

great fight. very fair and fun. unlike Midir. frick him.

Nice. Midir was one of the toughest fights for me in the series for some reason. Gael was probably my favorite.
Posted on 9/4/18 at 12:52 am to Devious
agreed, midir is hard af.
apparently i have to stand in front of him the whole time, which is new
his spinning slash attacks rip through 60% of my hp and running behind him when he stands on two legs and fire breathes never works.

It's all about positioning and recognizing tells.
Until you get to phase 2. Then it's pray, positioning, pray, recognizing tells, and pray

First off. I hated Sens Fortress. But after I cleared the area and killed the boss I felt great, like a weight was lifted.
My only complaint about DS3 is there's really nothing to do around Firelink Shrine. In DS1 if you wander around you will end up discovering new locations and think to yourself where the frick am I? I loved that.

Its cheesy, but i totally feel like im on an adventure. And i love DS3 and BB, but this sense of exploration and freedom is special.

I nearly had my first souls-related controller smashing in Sens. It had been many deaths, i was nearly to the roof, that last row of blades with the Snek waiting to ambush you with lightning. I made it across, saw the fog door, fist pumped, and then said "but frick that snake." So i turned around to murder it berore i left, hit TWO pressure plates, snake got a bleed combo in, i died. I died inside as well.
Btw, how the hell has Tarkus not been patched?! Hes a wrecking ball
I am really liking Anor Londo. These knights are chumps. Parried into the ground. I did mess up and get stuck in a painting for a couple days. Very frustrating but awesome level.
