If you meet the base STR requirement you can still 1 hand a 2hander.
I only mean you should pick up a chime, level it up, and start casting miracles.
ALSO: you will need to level up attunement as well. 10 attunement gets you 1 cast slot. 13 attunement gets you 2. 16 attunement gets you 3. 20 attunement will get 4. Meaning you can have 4 miracles active that you can cast.

But I will be slower? Or just my swing will be slower? Or should I just mess with it and find out? i did get a hammer from the blacksmith that seems pretty awesome and I have a greatsword in my inventory.

I'm going to call it here. This will be the best game in the Sousborne series. Looks too well-done. Amazing enemy, boss, and environmental variety, and I'd wager that they've fixed their past mistakes. Looks like they added a lot of BB elements, which is great. I can't wait

Yeah, you'll be slower but you'll do more damage and have much better reach. If you can adjust your timing, then you will be much better off mid-late game.
All the information is actually there for you in the game. When you are in the player status screen, you can press select for help, and you can see what all the attributes do, and what all the symbols mean.

A ton of fans, including myself, are very unhappy that streamers and youtubers get access to the English version of the game almost 3 weeks in advance. The game is done, localized. It's a slap in the face of the rest of the fans. The streamers need their views though, right?

i just looked at the greatsword. That is massive and slow as hell

All voice acting is in English. I saw someone mention there are English subtitles, but I can't confirm. All UI text is Japanese, however.

My cynical theory is that Bamco is consciously driving people to buy the Japanese version, knowing they'll eventually double dip. There's literally no reason the game shouldn't be out in the west right now. It's done.
