Could this be some legit college football news?

Sorry if Germans, but after going down a YouTube rabbit hole, I stumbled across an upstart company called IMV Gaming, and they're making a serious effort to bring back college football to consoles. This video is from their website:

Anyone see this before? I applaud their passion, but if this is gonna get off the ground, they definitely are gonna need to get the word out more. Hope either they succeed, or at least light a fire under EA's asses...

None of these independent start-ups are going to be able to really bring back college football... Licensing for school names, mascots and stadiums will cost a fortune.
It's going to take an established brand.

Yeah, it's an uphill battle. But if they can get the word out, who knows. I mean, signing up for the bronze pledge is only 5 bucks a month, which oughta be manageable to swing...but yeah, even if they raise the projected pledge amount, the big investors are still gonna have to pony up alot of dough to make it happen. It's promising news tho...at least a CFB game is not an entirely dead issue for the future.

It's a scam
Why does EA care? They're not in the NCAA biz

This is an absolute joke
you can look at my thread from last year that I made about this company. I believed them, they acted like they were seriously making a game and then a year later there's been no progress. Let me tell u a little about them:
-they're 2 twenty something year old guys. Ones a graphic designer at Penn State and idk about the other one. They make cool looking graphics/pics to attract people's eyes, but it doesn't mean anything
-no experience making games
-they're saying "We have an experienced company who has agreed to make our game, BUT we can't tell you who they are until we raise $850,000".
-they have some pro athletes like Spencer Dinwiddie and Lamar Louis on board helping them promote it and both guys said they'll donate thousands.....AFTER IMV gets 7,500 people to sign up to donate. It seems like they've paid these athletes to read off of a card what they want them to say. How do they have enough to pay them you ask? Well they've already raised about 40k that's been sent to their VERY secure PayPal account
-they made a "commercial" last year that was just a video they filmed with some friends talking about wanting a game back. Was posted on YouTube, not TV.
The bottom line is, they seem to be a scam. Maybe they aren't, but they really don't know how to communicate well if they're legit.
The thing that scares me is they say give us 850k and THEN we'll tell u the company we agreed to work with. Who the frick does that????

EA is not in the NCAA biz at the moment, but a couple of months ago they said it's definitely gonna happen again in the future. When, that's another matter...

Apparently you've done your due diligence, lol... I found something on YouTube, then it was corroborated by a story on AL.com, but beyond that I'm still in the dark. Appreciate the info, sucky as it is for football gaming fans, lol...

So then what's the point of even donating if it will still take a big investor?
Sounds like a textbook scam.

No idea, hence the topic, lol...perhaps they need assurance that people are willing to buy a non-EA football title. If it's a scam, shame on AL.com for not exposing it...

These guys live in Mobile, AL so AL.com wanted to publish a story on them since it's in the same state I guess. They also go around getting their supporters to tag different writers on twitter and getting them to make articles to spread the word. That's why there's about 10 articles online about them. They've done nothing but hype up people tho, no content whatsoever.

It could be a scam, but it could also be some guys who just didn't realize how way in over their heads they are.
If I was gonna run a scam like that, I certainly would fake the pledge total on the website, making it much larger than what it says. $60K (their approx current tally) is gonna get a ho-hum reaction...but if I'd bumped it up to something like $750K (much closer to the $850K goal), it'd raise the urgency level, get people more motivated to pledge their money before the supposed window closes, and ultimately put more money in the scammers' pockets.
I did chuckle at the downvotes in my OP...I thought the wording in the topic heading would've curbed some enthusiasm, but I guess some folks still felt let down anyway, lol...

You would have an expectation to release something though, whether you do or don't have anything actually planned. At $60K, ppl will pledge $5 here and there and hope something comes out a few years down the line. Basically throwing money away.

Well that would blow up in their faces real quick. That's not even a ponzi scheme, that's just straight-up fraudulent and would lead to jail time.

I know. I prefaced my post with "IF I was gonna run a scam...", because two people in this thread mentioned it could be, or is, a scam. The project seems like a mammoth undertaking for those involved, but I don't believe it's an outright scam (yet)...but if it is, I'm just saying there's room for improvement, as far as scamming goes
