finally broke the 2 million gold mark this morning. took some serious raiding over the last 4 days. now, i just got to wait 8 days to have that level 8 TownHall. 
i'm mainly excited about the +50 in fencing.

Congrats but you definitely should have waited to upgrade your TH... Heard a lot of players did this too early and had hell finding good loot. Their place also wasn't ready to defend against higher level players..

Match making is determined by trophies, so I have a lvl 9 TH and I can lower it and go against lvl 15-30 players if I wanted

Xbow is 7 days wait and next TH will be 10. I'm waiting 6 for my lab upgrade then spend 7 million elixir for 7 more days of waiting on my archers

True but if their TH is lower than yours so does the percentage you can take from their storages.. If you're just raiding mines it doesn't matter but that's hitting the next button a ton more.. Higher levels will also attack you more because more of your storage is available.. So your defenses/walls better be upgraded

I believe the rule is that if you attack a town hall 2 levels below yours, you can only take 10% of their total loot.

Not necessarily. I would have to see what level all of his stuff is.
You reach a point where you can no longer upgrade your stuff unless you upgrade the town hall. 8 days is also a long time to upgrade his walls etc while he waits on the town hall.

I wish you could do more stuff in this game while building/upgrading
i find myself opening the game on my phone then realizing i can't do anything then shutting it off then doing it again 15 min later

Lvl 15 here. When should I expect attacks on my base? Also, to enter multiplayer, do I have to rebuild the clan castle?

4 - level 7 cannons
4 - level 7 archers
out wall is level 4, inner wall where town hall and storage is, level 5. i'm going aiming to upgrade the entire outer wall this evening.
i think i'll be fine by the time i hit level 8 TH. plan on upgrading both wizard towers and at least 1 mortar.

as soon as you don't have a shield. so, i would suggest building the clan castle, so we can hook you up with good troops to protect your loot.
let me know when you've got the clan castle built and i'll send you an invite. we got overrun with randoms and people who wouldn't contribute.
luckily, anti, our clan Henchmen, cleaned them out.

highlight your Clan Castle and it'll show you it's radius. If enemy troops are attacking within that radius the troops donated to you will come out and attack them. so keep that in mind with placement of your clan castle.
Likely very helpful for anyone in the clan at the lower trophy levels with some of us in the clan having level 3+ troops to donate.
I thought i was donating all these troops for people in the clan to defend their base, turns out everyone but me has been using them in raids.

I don't mind low lvl troops but lvl 1 wall breakers are worthless
