tried a new raid set up with not much success. not a fan of the giant/healer combo. it all relies on taking out the AA before you put the healer out. so that kills off a bunch of your other troops doing that. your then left with slow moving giants and very few other troops to actually take the loot.
here's the set up i had been running. barely took a quarter of the loot available
and here's the new raid set up iv'e been using with a lot more success.
throw down wave after wave of barbs then archers ftw:

also one of the better raids i've had in awhile...

Man just get to them as quick as possible. Or avoid the bases that have xbows higher than level one and has more than one in the middle behind multiple walls. But if there near an outside wall and easy to get to I'll attack them even if they're above level one. Take out two of the mortars first with lightning strikes tho

to each their own. takes a bit of planning and experience to use the giant/healer combo. isn't for everyone.
if throwing out rows of barbs & archers works for you, stick with it.
i can maul any levevl of base from 1100-1900 with giant/healer/archer combo

Bump before the dreaded page 3.
Been letting my trophies to up. Only thing ive noticed is tougher competition. Just as much loot, if not more, in the 1000-1200 trophy level.

This is really what it comes down to. I'm not sure their is a 1 size fits all combo that can wreck any base. You pick a base that you know you can defeat given the loadout you have setup.
