Here's a quick set of guidelines:

Don't waste Honor Badges on rolling for heroes. Only roll for heroes with gems, or buy them with shards.

Don't upgrade Elite (blue) heroes past level 80, and don't upgrade Ordinary (green) heroes past level 60. Assemble a team of Legendary (purple) heroes as soon as possible.

Click the blue portal at the top left, then click the dragon/dinosaur. This mode is called HBM (Here Be Monsters). Use all your chances every time you log on. This is by far the best way to get EXP and shards. You will need to search the castle clash forums for the best base design for your Town Hall level to do well here.

Get on every night at 9pm central for the guild boss fight. This is by far the best way to earn Honor Badges.



There is lots, lots more, but just keep playing and ask questions here as you run across them.

Thanks, any advice for low a low level on what I should be doing or concentrating on.

Upgrade Town Hall constantly. Maybe think about buying an extra builder, and keep them all busy at all times. Roll gems for new heroes as often as you can, keep and cherish any purple ones you get. Do HBM, dungeons, and arena every time you log on.
