Well here's to hoping my router comes in today. Filthy AT&T bastards.

Routers seem like they need to be replaced about every 4 or 5 years. I don't think it's so much that the router goes "bad" so much as other technology evolves so rapidly.
And actually, the last modem Cox gave me is a router as well. So they might actually be fading out if they start making them all in or with the modems

I almost find it hard to believe that you were still on a B router. That shite is ridiculously outdated. Hit me up later if you need some help with the new one.

OK, I got the router hooked up. Now things like youtube actually run slower. Buffering more and take longer to load. I got a message this morning that popped up saying something to the effect of something is causing a disturbance in your force. Could be an alarm system, fax machine, no DSL filters, etc. I'm fricking lost.

I paraphrased. It was a legit ATT message.

The wireless in those combo packs is absolutely awful.

Depends on what internet package you're paying for whether or not your speeds will increase; on DSL I doubt it will. However, your local WLAN speed will increase tremendously.
You may need to talk to AT&T and get them to open up some of the ports on the new router or something, based on the problems you're seeing.
