Buying a monitor sucks

I know the technology used to produce computer monitors and televisions these days is deeply flawed, which is obviously part of the problem, but why does buying a monitor suck so bad in 2024? Researching monitors feels like I am loosing my mind.
This monitor has good contrast, but awful response time. This monitor has excellent response time but poorly contrast. This monitor has both excellent contrast and response time but is only 60Hz. This monitor has "ok" contrast and excellent response time but poorly color accuracy. This VA panel has excellent contrast and next to no black smearing but it has a really deep visibly distracting curve. This monitor has excellent response time at 144hz but is blurry at 60Hz and below.
My Asus VG27AQ monitor started displaying weird scanlines at 144Hz after only 1 year of use. Didn't seem to matter what display port cable was used.
After driving myself insane, I settled on the Asus PG27AQN which is twice as expensive, but has objectively worse image quality and backlight bleed. It does go up to 360Hz and next to no ghosting. It has a native gsync processor instead of merely being gsync compatible. Other than the image quality being objectively worse, this monitor seems to have a fatal flaw in that it can only support 360Hz through DSC which seems to be bugged on Nvidia cards, resulting in intermittant blank screens during gameplay unless 1) Gsync is turned off (bye bye native Gsync module) or 2) DSC is turned off which effectively turns the monitor into a 240Hz display. None of this will you read in any review whatsoever, but it was immediately apparent within the first hour of using this monitor. I've tried all the supposed fixes and nothing works beyond the items mentioned above.
The internet is rife with people experiencing the exact same issue and essentially there is no fix, so I will be in the market for buying my third monitor in 12 months.

The way the monitor market is now, is that you have to pick and choose the compromises you’re willing to make, there is no perfect monitor display tech yet.
OLED is slowly getting there, but will always come with the downside of higher risk of burn in but that issue has been improving and newer oleds have also improved the text clarity/fringing issue.

I could go into more detail, but yes, monitor shopping sucks arse. Even keeping track of the names is a mind numbing chore
