But it's not something I want to share among all classes. Give me an SMG or an awesome shield. Even a combat rifle would be okay.

Sniper rifle for someone who isn't spec'd for it is a pain at times.

I've played all classes with a sniper rifle. What am I missing? And Stout's nephew gave me a modded shield. I've had to use it.

You can still use it and it can still be effective, but until you play as Mordecai and see all the perks he gets for sniping, you don't know what you're missing. I was the Beserker and trying to snipe while my friend, who was Mordecai, was doing the same. He was getting headshots a lot more frequently. I found out later that you get a perk where your scope doesn't sway at all.

Hmmmmm. Interesting. I only have a soldier and the invisible chick. Also I would love to score another modded shield for my other character. I'm sure there is a way to get it from one to another.

Not in the first one. Dev posted a link about how being able to share gear between your characters will be a new feature in 2. So when you start a new class in Borderlands, you're pretty much starting over.

he could probably have a friend join his game. give him the shield. quit. switch characters. re-join the game. and have the friend give him the shield to the other character.

Yeah I thought of that. I finished the game and am going back to do all of the side quests that I can. There are a shitton of them. I am not really sure which towns have bounty boards other than Fyrestone and New Haven. And sometimes when I'm questing I gotta travel through like 10 towns to get where I need to go. I wish it told you where the quest was located.
