I've been thinking I would ask my wife to get me a Switch for Xmas, but I keep thinking all I want to do is get it for Zelda and Mario. This post has made me feel more confident in going for it. Although, I'm guessing my playing will be limited with a 9 month old at home.

splatoon 2. I hate shooters and multiplayer games in general...I put more hours into splatoon than I did Zelda 
which is a very substantial amount
also the good thing about the switch for married guys. you can sneak in way more gaming than you can on a console.

That's a big factor for me. There's no way I could ever get time on a console on a TV. I can see this replacing random surfing in bed before going to sleep.

also both Mario and Zelda are designed to where if you only have 30 minutes, you can get some shite done.

I'm not going to say this is even the best Mario game I've played, but it's a great and a unique 3D Mario game and that is saying enough for you to know it's excellent.
BotW is just a legendary journey and was worth the Switch by itself too IMO.
The fact that there will be more good games for this console may make it my favorite console of all time. If it continues at this rate it's going to be a no doubter.

It's Zelda and it's not really close in my opinion. I like odyssey a lot, but BotW is fricking amazing.

BOTW is a 10/10 (for me)
SMO is a 9.5/10 (for me)
Both excellent and they should be 1 and 2 for GOTY but BOTW is far, far better

It is hard to get over at first. You do swallow it because the rest of BotW is so good. It never stops annoying you though.
